This was very useful - not only for the syllables to record, but also to make my UTAU program work with Windows 7!! It took me around 3 hours to get all of the sounds into the oto.ini file, but I did them all and now it works!

I have a question for UTAU: Where exactly do you put the res folder in the utau directory? I've been putting it everywhere and the program is all in Japanese! Nothing happened! T^T

Instead of Audacity, I recommend using Oremo c: It's easier and specially made for UTAU voicebanks. You don't have to tho it's just a suggestion c:

This is really helpful thank you!

It better be worth it to record them all :1

RubythePuppy In reply to grassycelebi [2010-12-14 19:56:43 +0000 UTC]

Naw, not that much if you think about it. If you were to record a fluent english VB (Take in mind, from what I can see with a few extra sounds this could be forced into a multilingual =3)then there would be over 2000 sounds to record XD

adlez-vaatixmidna In reply to RubythePuppy [2013-07-20 00:08:16 +0000 UTC]

English Reclists have lots of strings, but the only kind of english that records individual syllables are either the old ones before CVVC, and Vocaloid. Β English Vocaloids are recorded with individual syllables.

grassycelebi In reply to RubythePuppy [2010-12-14 20:15:25 +0000 UTC]

O_O
Wow and i thought that was alot
But it took me six hours to record these all for rima XD
Which is why im only recording some of the extras for Ayame, which is wat i did for Mika .^.

RubythePuppy In reply to grassycelebi [2010-12-14 20:49:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, if you look up hiragane on wiki theres a simple table. Thats really all you NEED to record for the utaus, its just very useful to have the rest. For my UTAU-in-the-making it took me around 5 hours to record it all, and then an extra 20 minutes or so to record some extra sounds I figured I would. It's going to be a pain to oto though XD I think I may just get someone else to do that part =3

You need to make a notepad with the following example:

name=Sukune Suika
image=suika.bmp
sample=a.wav
author=Luciferxlafeye
web=[link]

That notepad text saved into your utaus folder as character

Youll also need to make a character description such as this:

Thank you for downloading Sukune Suika ACT 4
BIO:
AGE:
CREATION DAY:
HAIR COLOR:
EYE COLOR:
ITEM:
TYPE:
GROUPS:
MODEL NUMBER:
COPYRIGHTS:
PERSONALITY:
BACKGROUND:

Name it readme and place it in the utau folder

This is very useful, but I have a problem that I cant find the answer to.
When I go onto all my sounds theyre not like - A, ah, bya ect...
They look like this - e$/', a^&*, and other symbols (non japanese) that you arent able to type on the computer
Do you have any idea why?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

XxRitsukaxAoyagixX In reply to kayleh-deity [2010-09-20 10:57:08 +0000 UTC]

hmmm Your computer might not be able to read Hiragana or Kanji and it also depends on how you named your samples.

It turns my wav file into SP0000.WAV... i named it a.wav... and when i try turning it into an FRQ an error message that i can't read pops up, because i can't get it in english because my WinRAR doesn't work properly, so i can't extract it to my computer. Please help.
