I am a vegetarian. However, I'm sick of other vegetarians and vegans making asses of themselves over people eating meat.These people are just giving vegetarians and vegans a bad reputation. These people are the reason other people think were stuck up jerks.
For all you vegetarians and vegans who want to help out, let me give you an example of the ONLY time you should voice your opinion.
Example:
Non-vegetarian person: "Why don't you eat mean?"
That's when you can tell them. That's the only time. And try to avoid saying things like "Eating meat is an abomination and all meat-eaters should be ashamed of them selves!!"
Seriously, you're making everything worse.

Well, you don't have to do it all at once. When I discovered the truth about animal agriculture, I also started out as a vegetarian first. All of that information was a bit overwhelming, so I started with replacing meat and throughout the years I started replacing other animal products little by little. Tofu is something you've got to prepare right. Consider it flour you have to turn into a cake. There are plenty of recipes for tofu: you can make it taste the way you like (eg. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhQqfw⦠). Some people love it, other people don't. I personally love fried, well-spiced tofu, while my boyfriend prefers tempeh. My personal favourites are soy and seiten products. I don't have much money, so most of the time I prepare my own and put stock in the fridge. If you don't like raw vegetables, I'd avoid recipes meant for raw vegans.

Vegetarian is a good first step. I started out as a vegetarian, too. Let me know how you're doing every once in a while, and don't by shy to ask for advice when you need it.

I never lashed out at you anywhere. You responded to my comment and I simply stated reasons of why your argument was incorrect. Even if you think I was rude anywhere, saying that I am the reason you hate vegans is extremely absurd. Sometimes people are rude. This is nothing to do with veganism - anybody could be rude, vegan or otherwise. If a man is rude to you, do you have a problem with all men? If a person of a particular ethnicity is rude to you, do you have a problem with everybody of that ethnicity? Of course not. The actions or behaviour of a single vegan should not encourage you to dismiss veganism. Veganism is just wanting to avoid hurting animals. Why would you want to hurt animals just because someone was rude to you? I am not saying that anybody should be rude to you, it's not justified. But don't let it cloud the issue.

No. What is "fucking selfish" is paying someone to sexually exploit, torture and slit the throats of mother animals and their babies just because you enjoy the taste of their dead bodies. What is selfish and degrading to humans is supporting the leading cause of starvation worldwide (which is animal agriculture) for that same selfish reason. Being vegan is doing the opposite: it is selfless. It's about NOT harming. NOT forcing millions of people into starvation for greed. NOT funding environmental destruction. So if I'm "selfish" for not contributing to the aforementioned violence, then what does that make you for funding it?

Also, I could copy and paste all short paragraphs I wrote into seperate messages to you, but you might as well do that yourself, so I don't see why I need to do that for you. I know people who are dyslectic (I didn't know you were, until you mentioned it, so the kindergarten comment does not apply to you), but they don't use it as an excuse to hate on others, but just cut and paste texts they want to read into short bits and once they've read that, they read the next one. You were fine reading my first message. The "long" one is only twice as large, so why not cut it in half yourself? Why do you specifically want me to cut it in half for you? What's your problem?
It is clear that you are just seeking an excuse to hate on vegans (out of guilt?) and play ostich when they come up with valid arguments against the extreme violence you contribute to. What a shame. If you can't back up what you're saying, don't start a discussion.

I agree as a Veg. I don't wanna force People to get vegetarian/vegan.
They should decide what they eat and not me.
