Description PLEASE NOTE:

I have no intention of making any duplicates of this plush. It took too much time, used too many materials, and came out much too big. If I were to offer this plush up for commission, I would be charging much, much, much more than I would be comfortable with.

So, to remedy this, this pattern is available for purchase.

[EDIT:// Meaning, no, this pattern is NOT FREE. I've had some problems with this.]

The pattern will make the full size plush that you see above, and will be sent to your email in six different image sets.

There are not many Rayquaza plushies on deviantART, so let's change that.

Please send me a note if you are interested in the pattern.

Now, onward to the specifics!

This was a commission for one of my repeat customers, *Imaje-Train !

I have been working on this monster for the past two-ish weeks. I'm glad that he is finally done!

Rayquaza was made from anti-pill fleece and was 100% hand sewn. From the top of his head to where his torso meets the ground is 19 inches tall. From where is torso meets the ground to the tip of his tail is about 28 inches in length when measured along the inner curve -- so its probably more like 28-30 inches in all.

Next to it is actually my largest spool of thread for size comparison.

Look at all of those seams...

The black markings on his torso were painted on, along with the yellow designs on his body. Everything red was sewn in by hand and was a part of the pattern. The white claw tips and the fangs were also painted on.

There are weighted beads in the very tip of his tail, as well as the corner where his torso meets the ground and the body/tail starts.

His eyes were drawn on GIMP, coloured on Photoshop and printed into special iron-on transfer sheets. They were then ironed onto sturdy bottomweight fabric before being carefully mounted onto his head.

I hope everyone likes him as much as I do!

Oh my goodness.
Oh. My. Goodness.
O_O OH. MY. GOODNESS.
WORDS. THEY FAIL ME.
D8. Please, let me bear your children.
This is stunning. I've tried crocheting a Rayquaza, unsuccessfully, but this.
Oh my goodness this.
<3 You did an amazing job with this. <3

Oh my gosh... this is probably the best and most hilarious comment/compliment I have ever gotten in all of my years of plushing. Hehe, I've never had anyone ask to bear my children before! Thank you, I really do appreciate your words. You have no idea just how much.

I have never crocheted before, but I think anything with Rayquaza's design would be very hard to construct. I had a hard time making this guy myself. But I think a crocheted Rayquaza would be really cute -- you should try again!

But I do want to make another one. XD

This is much better than many of the official plushies that are sold outside of Japan - I have an official Meowth plushie made of thin material - so thin it is possible to see where the material overlaps, and my brother has an official Tepig (same company made both) whose ears and tails are attached very weakly.
And then I have a Dragonite and he has a Lapras (different company made them to Meowth and Tepig, but same company made them) that we purchased online from a Japanese retailer and they are way better.

But this here guy's better than all of them!

Just felt that I had to say that.
