Cover : Page TwoStyle change incoming! Page three features revamped Accipitaraptor designs, as well as color changes!
Finally finished! Many long hours have gone into this page, so I hope you like it! There's not much, but I had fun doing it.

Thank you omgosh. The eyes were super hard in the beginning, I just didn't know how to consistently draw them, but I've got the hang of it now! The heads were another thing; I wanted to practice some different perspectives, and I used Fontel as my test subject since his head shape is pretty simple.
Teeth gotta' be sharp, you're not taking down buffalo with blunt fangs

Love it Nozz! You might need to sharpen your BG skills a bit more, but you did great with your characters, and their expressions! I can't wait to see the next page 9hrs is not too bad a time either. Was it done in one-shot, or did you take breaks, and do it on multiple days?

Haha my background skills will probably never get any better than this but I don't really mind. Backgrounds have never been my forte
Thank you ^~^ I practiced a lot of expression sketches before even starting on the comic, so I'm glad it's payed off. 9hrs isn't too bad but I hope I can cut it down with practice; it was done over multiple days with sessions from an hour to 4hrs.

Don't give up hope on your BG skills! I'm sure enough practice(which this comic will give you), you'll get to a point, and go "wow, can't believe I ACTUALLY improved". Even if it's a little at a time, it's better than nothing! Glad to hear you didn't do it in one-shot. That would be a lot for anyone to spend on one thing. I do love your style, and once again, I will be waiting for the next page!

It's okay. I found some tutorials you might find helpful(you don't have to use them, just trying to be helpful). Most of it is just layering, shadows,highlights perspective, and DEFIANTLY knowing how to use your brushes/ a good brush pack, but here:

Beautifully done and I love your theropod type dinos here. (Haven't had time to read up on your species I'm afraid) but they're beautiful none the less, and the feathers are so exciting for a dinosaur enthusiast such as me. Looking forward to more pages.

Oh my, thank you so much! I don't have any official info up for them yet, just smatterings of info in the descriptions of others;
First off, they're a made-up species by me called Accipitaraptors (literally meaning Bird of Prey Bird of Prey in Latin)
I made a quick scale mockup for you, since I didn't have one either.
The darker male is Fontel, the packs Dominant Alpha Male. The larger one is Mogga, his second eldest son. He has a recessive gene that causes him to be far bigger than any of the other raptors. The man is only there for relevant sizing; no humans appear in my comic at any time.
They're omnivorous and like water; if there's a pool of water they will just stand in it or lie in it unless it's super cold. It's not personal preference, it's just their species lol.
Hunt in packs, can have any number of offspring from 1 - 20 in each brood. They live around 20 years but 15 is the normal life expectancy (like humans with 80 years, but we can live above 100)
The Dominant Alpha Male pairs with the Dominant Alpha Female, but also mates with every other female in the pack. Like lions, they generally drive out their sons, but that's up to each individual pack leader; Fontel allows all of his sons to stay as long as they don't threaten his authority, whereas his own father forced him out at a very young age.
The feathers grow the most abundant on the Dominant Alpha Male, and the DAFemale grows more prominent tail feathers than her lower ranked female packmates, however there are anomalies like Pepe, who grows very long tail feathers despite this. It is common for the DAMale to pull out his sons feathers to maintain his dominant look, as well.
Females do not have claws on their hands like males, since the claws are used for fighting and no other purpose; they hunt using the back claws and teeth, so hand-claws are like the spurs on a rooster.
The fangs grow longer with age, not dominance, meaning females may have longer fangs than males; the fangs sit inside the mouth until they get too long or the raptor feels threatened (see Tilde in the bottom middle panel).
The feathers normally sit back on the neck, but Fontel's are sticking up over his crown like a wolfs tail; younger males grow their feathers sticking up and can only fold them down when they get older, meaning yes, they seem constantly aggressive.
They don't have a breeding season, and the incubation period of an egg is around 40 days. The genders of the young can be easily distinguished just like the adults; claws on the hands and shorter, flat muzzles for the males, the opposite and longer muzzles for the females.
Inbreeding is pretty common. Not gonna lie. The DAMale will breed with every female in the pack, including his daughters. This makes it easy to distinguish which individual is from which pack, since they all carry pretty much the same genes. Vlassky Clan is lucky to have a lot of outsiders join it's pack, so they look different for now. Later chapters introducing the next generation will show the smaller gene pool.
