I love this one too.
Only colour can give the fantastic atmosphere of that bright sunny day. And the brickwork looks really beautiful with sunlight....

Actually, I improved it quite heavily using photoshop.
But I can't remember exactly what I done with the road.
For sure I increased the amount of cyan and red.
Sorry for not being so explanatory...

I've seen very similar view in Toscana or Umbria too If you visited either one then it's not impossible that I was in the same sport where you took the shot

I took this picture in Central Italy but not in Toscana or Umbria, I was in the Marche (along the eastern coast).
It is not so unlikely you visited a similar place because here landscapes are almost the same.
You should visit the Marche next time you came in Italy...
