Description
"Massive in size, wings flapping can be heard tens of metres away yet there is no more gentle and curious creature illuminating the nights. You can spot the moth's glowing body far away, and a swarm of these critters make it look like a campfire was lit in the dark"
It was such an ordeal to finish this drawing and, like with the "Temporal Mage", I started this one way too late again :^). Still, I'm happy and a bit surprised too how it turned out. It pays to stick to the project, even when it feels like it's stagnant and super not fun.
I try to include more and more detail with each painting I do, but there is only so much energy I can allocate to any given project at this point. I know I'm improving though and I will continue doing that as long as I'm able to .
I was inspired by the heroes of the game For Honor yet again since I love the aesthetic of it so much. The moth is a derivative of a giant silk moth, which I find really adorable :3.

I love this piece !Β Such a contrast between the aspect of the soft moth and hard knight ! The eyes on the moth make it adorable and almost puppy like. The execution is flawless and your talent and skills def show !

This is quite adorable indeed! ^_^ I like the textured shine to the armor. Nothing like having a fluffy buddy to guide ya.Β

A moth on a blade, it couldn't get any more contrasty than that. It's like a flower in the barrel of a gun.
Β Not only your vision can be praised here, but also your improvement. The ornaments are a wonderful addition to this knight's design and the lighting functions wonderfully in the dark scenery.
Β Superb, as always! :3

Yee, thank you :3! I try to put more tasteful details in each drawing. Also I'm glad to hear you like the contrast I was going for! I tried to make the shape of the moth's wings similar to the axe to make it fit in better :>

Oh only now I realized how the shape of the moth's wing resembles the blade of the halberd. But it is hard to realize since it is mirrored. If the shapes would be parallel to each other, I think it would look better if you went for this effect. Of course that's only a minor thing compared to the rest of your image :3

Yee I think you're right, although I like to think that even if it's mirrored, the similarity of the shapes might still feel harmonious with one another. I actually have no idea whether that's the case or not :^).
Thank you for your kind words though :3

Beautiful work! Love the armor rendering, good work sir. But the most important thing, which made me even write the comment: That's the cutest, the floofiest moth I've ever seenΒ Β o.o

This turned out quite beautifully! I like the reflections in his armor, especially the one above his head where you can (I think at least) make out the silhouette of a forest or something similar. Plus the night sky looks amazing too.
I like the little gold engravings all over the armor as well, but I feel like it doesn't really fit too well on the halberd, both for visual and practical reasons (but more visual). For me personally it creates sort of a third point of interest in this drawing, with the other two being the moth and the knight itself.
Also, I'm glad you were able to finish it in time, without getting too stressed out about it :3

Thanks for your comment, as always :3! I did have a forest in mind when painting the reflections so you have a keen eye!
You're definitely right in that it might be too much visual clutter to add ornaments to certain places. And it is a point that I didn't even consider, so thank you for pointing that out . I shall keep that in mind when trying to add neat details.
Also, thank you for looking out for me! I've said that before but I'll say it again uwu.

This is quite beautiful! And, about knight and moth together, I am thinking about giant eagles. I believe you know what I mean. ^_<
