i always wondered how you work with two pokemon's colour palette and know which colours to use more.for example the jolteon/azumarill combination; both of them have three colours each,but you left out jolteons yellow fur and just went straight for a white fur coat.Secondly emphasizing azumarill's body features: spots,tail and colors

I think it's an experience thing, haha. For example, if you'd colour Jolteon/Azumarill yellow, it would look too Jolteon and not enough Azumarill. Then again, if you'd draw it like it is now, but with yellow instead of blue, it could look good. But I still want more blue to make it look more Azumarill.

That's very true, i guess it depends on the pokemon type,the colors you wanna layout and the best way the fusion is gonna look when the drawing is complete.
