With this commission opportunity with Thunkstudio , I've broken a 2 year hiatus of commissioning a drawing for my #1 fave for DiD things since 2010 with Astrid from HTTYD. Something that was exciting to hear while commissioning this was that ThunkStudio was not just familiar with the franchise but a fan of Astrid's very self-capable character too!

Only of course here she ended up in something she couldn't manage to control. Usually she's commissioned angry in these setups, but this time she's just hoping to not be seen by her captors (whether enemy or frenemy) or anyone else to catch her in this level of helplessness & vulnerability.

P.S., this idea had been around a while to commission of her attempting an escape this way, it in fact helped inspire the theme for the ongoing Damsel Crusade contest that was chosen in the server poll.
