Yeah so I've kinda been going through a Buzz Lightyear kick so I decided to draw him! Man, that took awhile. He's got quite a bit of detail... But it turned out really good I thinkRelated content

How long do these take you? And what pencils do you use?

I just use regular graphite pencils. And how long it takes varies. Some of the less detailed ones take about 3 hours but the more complex ones (Like this Buzz or some of my Cars ones) can take 6 hours or more.

Well when I really get into a drawing and feel excited to do it (and if it's going my way), hours can just pass by without me even realizing it!

i remember buzz lightyear! did you know that pixar took the name lightyear and used it for the barnd of tires for the pistoncup racers in the movie cars.

Yeah it's not something that gets a real close up, but check out the tires on the trucks (the tanker at the gas station or the Eggman movers truck, I dont remember which one) when you see them

Yes I do graph most of the time. Sometimes I dont but for this one especially I did. It's the most accurate way for me to get all the detail and everything in proportion.
