Description Neither rain nor snow nor gloom of night
Nor giant spiders nor evil overlords nor convoluted temples
Nor puzzles nor deadly traps nor the undead
Nor silly minigames nor dodongos nor bottomless pits
Nor lava nor boss battles nor secret caves
Nor ancient forces of darkness nor cursed artifacts nor malign sorcerers from another dimesnion
stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

But don't ask us about Tingle.

Link the Postman is the lovely little brainchild of *DarkCatXX and Nintendo totally needs to make a game about him.

I can imagine how it would go if they made Link a postman in a game.

Upon release: This game sucks! Nintendo makes lousy games!

1 Year later: Huh...this game isn't so bad...I kinda like it!

5 years later: OMG you never played this game? WTF is wrong with you?!? THIS IS THE BEST F#*@ING GAME EVER MADE!!!

Next game toon Link stars in, he should be a postman. If that happens, I'll slap myself.

Neither rain nor snow nor glom of nit!
Hee hee, you've read that book? It's one of my favorites.

'Course I did. You suggested it to me. And yes, I totally read it as 'glom of nit' at first. XD Moist Von Lipwig ties with the Watch as my favorite Discowrld characters.

Oh that's right, I remember telling you about it now!
The Watch books are definitely some of my favorites, with Thud being my favorite Watch book, followed by Feet of Clay. Have you read the other Moist Von Lipwig one, Making Money? It's a whole lot darker than Going Postal but still quite fun.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Riverfox237 In reply to YamiRedPen [2011-02-06 20:35:29 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I love both of them, although Going Postal is definitely my favorite. It still amuses me that I managed to read almost the entire Watch series backwards. Seriously, I kept wondering where he meets Sybil and then I FINALLY read 'Guards! Guards!' as the VERY LAST BOOK IN THAT SERIES and that's where it happens. XD Man, I love those books so much. If I were to reread any of his books, it would definitely be those ones. Sadly, I'm out of books of his to read, except for the ones about witches which I'm still not comfortable with (the Lancre witches just put me off a little). I need to find Pyramids, it's probably the only other one I haven't read yet and that's because my library has it stuck in the back somewhere being 'fixed.'

Thanks. Yeah, I just made the bird up because Link needs a little advice giving friend in each game.

The character was designed by *DarkCatXX so I'm not sure what inspired her...

2nd best game in the world, I say! (OOT being #1, naturaly :3)

who was your fav form? mine was the Zora form! I love water and water creatures like Zoras! (and mermaids X3) though that Goron form realy knew how to roll!!!! o__0

(Zora's rock mad, while the Gorons roll like crazy!) lulz couldn't resist! X3;

the Deku form's kinda cute, but I never used him much when not needed... :\

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

YamiRedPen In reply to clampfan101 [2010-04-05 14:45:43 +0000 UTC]

It's a great game, although I thought Wind Waker had the best music and overall gameplay, but none of the Zelda games can beat MM for downright awesome creepiness.

Of course the Zora was my favorite! First of all because Zoras are awesome and second of all because your instrument in that form was Mikau's electric guitar, which was my favorite instrument of the the game. Also the boomerang fins were pretty sweet. Fierce Deity is my second favorite, but I can't use him outside of boss fights.

The Deku form was kinda useless, since anything it could do you could pretty much accomplish with another form once you got them all. I know it was plot relevant to give you a weak form at first, but I wish there'd been another transformation mask, like one that turned you into a Garo or something. It would make sense to have one transformation mask per temple.

clampfan101 In reply to YamiRedPen [2010-04-05 14:53:57 +0000 UTC]

if only they where ALL transformations! ^_^
I wanna be a Keaton!!! DX

in my list of fav Zelda games, next would have to be the earlier handhelds - "Link's Awakening DX",(I assume short for "deluxe"), and the Oracle games. hard to say what order among those three. Maybe the oracle games first, what with the awesome Ricky, but Link's Awakening is such a classic! ^^ (and has the lovely Marin. X333)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

YamiRedPen In reply to clampfan101 [2010-04-05 15:08:04 +0000 UTC]

Of course that would make the Great Fairy mask doubly creepy... I'd want to be a Rito: just put on the Breman mask and boom, powers of flight!

I haven't played the Oracle games yet but Link's Awakening was fun, if pretty bittersweet at the end. Twilight Princess was my favorite in terms of the Overworld. I just love exploring and dawdling around when I'm supposed to be saving the princess. And I think Ocarina had all the best sidequests. (Biggoron sword FTW!)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

clampfan101 In reply to YamiRedPen [2010-04-05 15:20:50 +0000 UTC]

the Biggoron Sword was sooo helpful against Gannondorf's magic bolts or whatever!
he realy should fight a whole lot more like Mewtwo than silly C. Falcon in SSB... for his special moves, anyways. for melee attacks or whatever he could use that sword. (or twin swords if they had a Toon Ganon! lol)

there are two figher's stances at th realy bug me... first is Wolf. he could've had much better ones. instead of howling,(the heck??), he could have used a cool line from SF64 - "You're good, but I'm better!"

what REALY gets me is Toon Link's! he has that one where he looks around. ... ... ... and you know what would be better?(along with ANYthing else) that victory dance he does all the time in Wind Waker, like when you beat a boss! it was SOOOO obvious he'd do that as one of his stances, except he DOESN'T do it ONE SINGLE TIME in Brawl, does he???

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

YamiRedPen In reply to clampfan101 [2010-04-05 15:39:25 +0000 UTC]

I always got a kick out of defeating Ganondorf with an empty bottle. Truly that is the most powerful item. I wish they'd included WW Ganon in Brawl, because he was one of the coolest incarnations, what with his twin swords and all. Never understood why he's so slow in Brawl though, since in the actual Zelda games he's pretty quick on his feet for such a muscular guy.

I think they made up for a lot of stuff in Brawl with the final smashes though. Some were pretty useless but a lot of them looked really cool, like Ness's meteor thing and Lugi's antimatter bubble. And Ganondorf's was turning into his giant boar form! Also, the fact that one of Link's color selections is essentially Dark Link just made my day.

I propose the name Habroc, like the Habrok of norse mythology and the Roc of persian mythology.

We must draw him doing lots of silly sidequests and going through temples and such! Then we can design what everything looks like.

side quest idea: delivering letters between two love birds, one of which travels the world of Hyrule while other stays at home(end game - they have reunion party)

it'll look like a dragon or phoenix maybe. oh at one point you bike can get like magic wheels to help eliminate monsters on the travels, who will poof into forgotten letters that you can still deliver.

Collecting these letters in your letterbag and dropping them off in the mailboxes scattered across Hyrule will earn you rupees, which you'll get paid each time you return to the post office.
