Description
I took this photo with a Nikon D70siso 1600
shutter speed 8000
F6.3
I was told would never get a good result at that high of iso and should never go above iso 400 with this camera I want to know all of your thoughts and opinions.
Thank you

I agree with some of the commentators here...a photo like this one needs a lot more preparations...so...it needs more work...but a very good start nevertheless...

thank yes this was a simply very quick test and I liked the results. however there is much room for improvement and very little time to practice since I live 900 hundred miles from this spot

Yep, most of the times you shouldn't use ISO at 1600... but in this particular case, the result is very good.
So, yes, you should keep trying new things

HarLeeRider-Stock is right; but usually you don't get good results with an iso over 800, on dark photographies, it usually doesn't matter much on the lighter ones, except they may become overexposed...

Hi Kirk! I think this is a great image taking everything into consideration. I'm not much on the critique on others' work, but technically speaking, reciprocating 1 stop wouldn't have any substantial effect on this image. Because of the available (or lack of) light and the fact that this is a borderline macro shot, you would need a very small aperture to make it really sharp all the way through. And at a stop action shutter speed, this would be extremely difficult at a low ISO setting. So, I think it's very good the way it is!!!

IF I had more time and was there by myself I would have taken a lot more shots just to see what the out come was I did take one at 800 but a different section and I did not like the out come

yea but I am learning to be quick since I do not travel with people who have a mind like mine and do not have time to travel on my own to go out there and take the pictures I want

Not exactly sharp for that aperture, and is there really much difference between a 8000th and 4000th? Why not go for a 4000th and the more usable ISO 800?
The shots is nice though, I'd want it razor sharp though
