I'm happy to be part of the project Gemanimate where a whole episode will be reanimatedΒ by different artists every scene!
I have to animate Ruby and Sapphire and since I never really drew them before, here are some practice
I'd like to be more comfortable with the two of them before animating,
so I guess I'll start to doodle them everyday for a while!
It's tricky tho because I'm not used drawingΒ small characters

Did anyone else think Ruby was a guy at first, or is it just me?

Β Ooh! Ooh! I did! I did! LOL.Β Β But when I eventually learned that Ruby was depicted to be partly female just like all the other gems, I was IMPRESSED with the risks that Cartoon Network and other programs like Disney XD were taking with portraying same-sex couples in a family-friendly show that's either rated "PG" or "Y7".Β Β It made things even MORE clear to me that TV shows these days are upping their game with teaching people to accept each other's differences!
