Description
A younger Gecko Moria with a rock-and-roll pirate ship and a few nameless crewmates. For his costume, I worked from the neckbelt and fur collar he was shown wearing at Roger’s execution and felt that a biker look would make sense; besides, the “aging rock star” vibe he gives off always made me think of Meat Loaf.It’s possible that at some point in the next few years, we’ll get a canon look at Moria’s old crew/ship/style, but I decided not to worry about it, and added some generic-looking figures because it wouldn’t look right with a solitary captain. Considering that the last arc was almost 50 chapters long, I’ve got no idea when the “Straw Hats” will actually be setting their sights on Kaidou, and to what extent Moria’s past will play into things.

Well the Straw Hats are staring Kaido right in the face and Moria's back in action so odds are we'll get at least a glimpse of his old crew.

I hope he looks like this post timeskip, maybe he'll show up swole as fuck and finish off Doflamingo for trying to kill him in the Whitebeard War.
Or at least show up during the Kaido skirmish like you said.

The Lady in top right kinda looks out of place, I'm sure she'd fit more alongside the Voodoo pirates.
The Guy at Bottom left looks like he is a Revolutionary.

Well, he had a thick neck and a defined chin, so he probably wasn't nearly as fat back then as he is today.

Be that as it may, I'm sure that you've got the style of his old crew down since Moria is like Meat Loaf and his crew would be the same style as their captain.

Considering that Moria is still alive and Kaidou is the yonkou that Law wants taken out (being the biggest user of "SMILE"), I'm sure that Moria will show up again when the Straw Hats are going after Kaidou. I have no idea what kind of crew he used to have, though I've drawn him as a younger man with some generic-looking types (gunman, brawler, witch doctor, etc.) shown in profile or from a distance. I'm sure they were weird and cool, whoever they were.

I really like this version you made of him. He almost looks like Kuma in body tone, and gives a unique look to him looking more badass than his comical fat appearance.

Super-tall people in One Piece all seem to come in either "beanpole" or "huge top and tiny legs" shapes, and even though he's grotesquely overweight, Moria is one of the latter. All we can see of the younger Moria is that he had a long face and a thick muscular neck, so I assumed that he wasn't as fat and run down twenty years ago as he was the last time we saw him, and gave him a body shape similar to Kuma's- a bit husky, but strong.
I'd love to see a flashback in the comics with a younger, badass Moria, but I hope that his shape hasn't changed in the present day. He's too weird and cute for me to want him to change.

I always imagined younger Moria to be more of a bean pole, with some kind of rock star look to him. Looks pretty close to what I imagined.
