Yes, more freaking Doc Ock fanart. I'm such a poseur, et cetera, et cetera.Colouring this made me miss my tablet.... I'm glad we managed to download the drivers for the damn thing off the internet.

It was actually supposed to kind of have a "the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing" look to it. ~n_n;~ As for what the guy did, he was probably just unlucky enough to be there.

Her certainly looks grumpy... Very good job with the texturing and blood and such. I absolutely love the way the tenticals turned out... They look almost fluidy. Great work, and remind me not to insult our friend Otto within hearing range XD

I'm all for blood and gore, but what I like about this image is that you put the dead body in the shadow and how the overall coloring was done. It makes your eye look at Doc Ock's face first, and then you see the body. I also like the look on his face making it seem he was just having a bad day and had to take his frustrations out on someone.

I wanted to see more of him in the movie, period. Heck, he could've just been standing there reading a newspaper and he would have made the scene better!

This is so dark and moody, I almost expect Buffy Summers to be lurking off to the side with some wooden stakes... wondering where the hell Spider-Man is.

Spiderman, uh..... had a cold. Yeah. That or his costume was in the wash. Sheesh, you can't expect the poor bastard to be everywhere at once, can you? It's no wonder superheroes keep their identities secret or they'd be hounded and sued by people who weren't saved by them!

And the cool thing is, it's almost like he hasn't even noticed ^_^!
Especial like for the blood on the metal & the shading on the good doctor's clothes. Don't know why, just do ^_^! Is cool.

nye-he-he...... that was kind of supposed to be the idea, I'm glad that it was obvious.
For some reason, the idea of a corrupted psyche- a person whose mind has been invaded by a will that cannot be distinguished from his own- fascinates me. It's like a symptom of mental illness... you find yourself compelled to do pointless things to satisfy a ludicrous superstition that you consciously know makes no sense, or suffer tics that drive those around you to distraction while you yourself don't even notice making them. Fuck, I hate being sick.

I felt like a real lamer for not bothering to hunt down any photos of anatomisations or car accident victims or something to figure out if it really looked like a dead body should, but, not having an internet connection at the time I guess I didn't have a choice anyways.

It was sort of supposed to be a "the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing" kind of thing.... though being a fugitive from the moment he woke up in the hospital, he seemed to have made a decision to disregard the safety of others, and who's to say he might not have started to like thrill-killing on his own time? The border between his own mind and the AI seems to have become blurred.

I completely agree. You have such a wonderful take on Movie!Otto, I don't suppose you write fanfiction or anything do you?

yang In reply to cherryhobbit [2004-09-20 00:07:22 +0000 UTC]
Not for a long time.... unfortunately, it seems to take me even longer to write than it does to draw, and I'm even less likely to finish a story than I am a picture.
Having looked around and found some decent stories, I'm not sure what I could add anyways. I kind of wish I had the money for comics now- even if he's a lot less desirable than the movie-Ock, the comic-Ock does seem like an interesting character himself. And, well, I mad scientists.

It all depends on which Comic!Ock you look at. I think the Ultimate!Ock is the best looking one, but don't sell Ramos or original Ock short, they are awesome in their own ways. I guess it all depends on what you look for in a mad scientist.
Here's a site with some snippets of comics if that would help you.[link]
just go downto Octavius's lab report

Yeah, I'd actually seen that site before, but thanks for reminding me of its URL!
I try not to judge a man by his looks, though when it comes to characters I think the uglier the better.... still, the Ramos Ock is stretching it a bit- he looks like an ogre or a hitman or a really freaked-up goth, not a mad scientist! Now I get "I Would Do Anything For Love" stuck in my head whenever I think about Ock.

Mmh... the gore is very convincingly rendered. Interesting place to start, I know. So did you use paths for the tentacles this time? If not that looks like it was murderous! X_x; Good all around use of textures, and yes, the dumpster came out great.... hmm... but why did Doc Ock axe that guy? I'd guess pudge jiggling, but this time he came protected!
