Kuma and Moria as children, making imorikuroyaki - black fried newt. It seemed like the sort of creepy thing that a horrid little boy would do.There are numerous kinds of medicinal kuroyaki, and newts are a traditional restorative, sometimes used as an aphrodisiac. Though itβs unrelated to this picture, (despite these two characters often being shipped, heh) if a couple share a burned newt, theyβre supposed to have a long relationship together.

Nehehehe... thanks. I went with the rationale that if he already had horns as a child, he probably ate the fruit when he was very young and it might have affected his body. (in the same way that Alvida's appearance totally changed after consuming a devil fruit) That, or maybe he's from the same place as Magellan and Hannyabal? A lot of the characters in One Piece look seriously strange, though they seem to all be technically human.

Black fried newt is more like medicine, though I'm sure he'd happily eat it as is.
