Description On the night March 5th 1963 a small private plane, a Piper PA-24 Comanche flying home from a benefit concert in Kansas City crashed in the rugged hills near Henderson Tennessee. On that night one of the most dynamic voices in American music was silenced forever. That voice was Patsy Cline.

This is dedicated to Patsy.

Thanks Matt. I was thinking about that. We were sitting here at work naming all the musicians that were killed in plane crashes and there were a lot.

Aren't Beechcraft's official colours supposed to be Blue, White & Silver?

I'm not sure what Beechcraft's official colors are. A friend of mine has a Beech Bonanza and it's mostly white with brown and tan stripes.

I found a 1950's Piper Aircraft color chart on the net and based the paint scheme on that and the 2 tone color scheme from the twisted metal from the fatal plane crash. Piper had some nice color schemes. I think yellow and black was Piper's corporate colors.

A great tribute, and what an excellent aircraft profile!

I must say that your aircraft profiles are in the same league of of the best I've seen in many books and magazines.

Nice work Don.
Patsy had one of those voices that would fit in any time and any style of music. It is a shame that we were never able to hear her move from 50's style music into the mid 60's rock. That would have been worth the ticket price.

Thanks Buff!
She did have one of those voices. It is a shame, who knows what direction her voice would have taken her? I see LeAnn Rimes in the same light, as her voice evolves, I think there is no limit to where her voice will take her.

Thanks Sgt! Yeah, it is a shame. Too many have died tragically in small plane crashes. If I were a musician, I would think twice about getting on a private plane.

Thanks Ahmed! I like Pipers too, as a matter of fact they were built here in Lycoming, Pennsylvania. They are now being built at Vero Beach Florida [link] and they are building some very beautiful aircraft.
The Comanche was designed with many of the elements that made the P-51 Mustang so successful.

Patsy Cline was someone who transcended musical definition. Although considered a Country & Western singer, she had a sound and a style that went far beyond Nashville.

I love patterns and geometric art as well. I'm always playing with shapes and patterns.

Bradley Schenck is brilliant, I've been a fan of his work for several years now, but thanks for pointing out his new book, it looks like a must have for my library!

Mr. Henderson, Sir,

This is perhaps the very first time that I clicked something while not knowing its by you!
the colours are very refreshing and bright, but the selective use again gives some hint, as do the blue tinted windows! Pipers are my elder brother's favorite.

Its a very graceful tribute of yours to Patsy! I have never heard her though, I surely will, I sometimes curse this fast moving modern world, I wish I was there in the good old days and all the ethics and values. I like to be conservative.

I have seen some good deviations [link] and [link] for Celtic Borders by I hope you like them, recently I have got my hands on a book called -Celtic Art- its by O.B. DUANE

I am also getting interested in Pattern & Geometric Art these days

I am very much serious towards Art by now, and there is revolution in my thoughts these days, I see the world with new eyes, you may read about this on my page [link]
