Description
Ever since I was a kid, I wanted a Willys Jeep Pickup. Chevy, GMC, Ford and Dodge all seemed to follow the same recipe, but Willys never followed suite and always marched or 4 Wheeled to a different drummer, so not breaking ranks with Jeep, but taking it to a different level, here's a 1955 Jeep Pickup Hot Rod.Adobe Illustrator 8.0, Apple G4 Power Mac, OS 9.2

I love your attention to detail. You got the cutouts in the chrome caps for the hubs in the front even... Nice! I see you got two deuces on a flathead instead of the old strait six Super Hurricane. That's probably what I would do too. In fact you have inspired me. I'm gonna go talk to a old timer that has one now, see if I can get it off him!

Thanks! I'd love to build something like this too, good luck, if you are able to come up with an old Jeep pickup and you do something like this, let me know, I'd love to see it.

Thanks! No, but that is very cool! Too bad it's not a Jeep , but that inspires me to design a Jeep CJ Rat Rod.

That's definitely unique. Friend of mine had a Willys truck and I always loved it. Nice concept.

Great, as usual. The details are still a bit tough to see in spots on the full, though. Very cool rod.

Thanks! I guess I could post these a little larger or do some close ups. If you'd like to see the Pin-Up Girl, she is from my illustration of the 7th Air Force, B-24J "Liberator" Night Mission: [link]
Night Mission's Pin-Up Girl is based on a WWII Esquire Varga Girl, but in the original Vargas Pin-Up she was wearing a night shirt.

Indeed. Jeep trucks always looked different from the crowd. Great job on this one.

I'm starting to wonder what you would be like if you upgraded to an Intel-based quad core Mac Pro and OSX...
Probably better for all of us that you're kept to sub-supersonic levels.
P.S.: I own a Cherokee... I know where you're coming from. It ain't a Willy's but it's boxy in a good way.

I use a G5 quad with OSX Tiger and CS2 at work, but I much prefer my dual processor G4 with OS 9.2 and illustrator 8, it's faster and more stable. I get so sick of watching that stupid spinning beach ball while it processes the simplest things, things that the G4 just burns through like nobody's business. I like all the bells and whistles on the G5, but I hate waiting for it to do things. When I'm working on something, I work really fast and try not to waste any time. The G5 for all it's hype about speed is a real dog compared to my G4. If Steve Jobs is listening, I'm not impressed.
I had a 2 door Cherokee, I think it was an '85 or '86, it was cool and later we had a '95 Grand Cherokee Limited, that thing was real nice. We traded it in on a '04 Liberty. I drive a 95 Wrangler rag top as my daily driver. I love Jeeps, I wish I could afford one of those new 4 door Wranglers, but I'd really like to have an old one. If you get a chance, visit my Jeep page: [link]
Thanks for the comment! It's always nice to talk to somebody who "understands". ΒΊlllllΒΊ

Thanks Buzz! Back when I was a teenager, there were 5 Jeep pickups in various stages of decay sitting on a hillside on a farm in Camp Joann, PA. I could have had them all for a few hundred bucks, but I had no place to put them, my folks would have killed me if I would have brought them home. I did have a Kaiser-Willys CJ-5 that was fun to drive. I wish today that I had kept it, but I bought a CJ-7 Levi edition with a V8 and the CJ5 was just sitting in my folks driveway and they wanted it out, so I sold it. Here's a link to my Jeep page: [link] Check out the CJ7 stuck in the mud, the CJ5 would have made it!
