This on itself is an awesome piece of artwork. I do, however, wonder if this will work because for example you cannot see his legs.. that means that they will still have to fill in the rest of his body to get a full design if you see what I mean. It's nothing against you or your work, it's just a question that I have.. how will they judge? Will they go for design over artwork or for artwork over design. Because for artwork this is very good but for a design it is not fully visible and therefore I think less good. The creature could even have a tail if you see what I mean..

I dunno, we'll see. It's not meant to be in the game anyway, so I don't think it matters that much if we don't see the creature completely. I decided to favor artwork over design, but that's a personal decision. I think this creature, being a part of his environment, can't be without it; it just has more impact this way I believe.

I personally favor artwork over design as well but since the contest is for most part about the design.. well anyway they also judge on technical skill and impact and your art certainly lives up to those things so I think you still have a good chance

Of course they will use the winning design. I don't know what he's smoking. The won't use your art directly but most likely use it as reference and recreate the creature using their own software. They are buying the rights to the design and will make it an animated creature but it will still be the one you designed. The more detail they get, the less work they have to do in the long run.

It's kind of obvious. You won't be designing the entire character yourself. They are basically paying you for the rights to your character design so they can render their own version of it in the game. You just have to submit a 2D image for reference.
