Description
Quite the looker for one with double hinged arms and legs. I've always found the Forkrul Assail quite awkward in their physiology, and wonder if such a physique would be possible? As always let me know what you think! And feel free to check out some of the other art I've made for the series.

You got the arms really well. I have thought about trying to draw them myself but have a hard time visualizing them also. I tend to think of the joints as hinges. From what I've read, the chest has a hinge in the middle that would allow the shoulders to fold in towards each other and I think also a hinge between the breast-bone and hips. There are also hinges in the face. I also agree with an earlier comment about the breasts. I even think he once mentioned that at least one of them had small breasts. I just finished my 6th re-read of the entire series (including Esslemont books).

6th reread??? You're a beast!! I'm still on my first read and still have a lot to learn, so I'll make sure to go back and edit my pics accordingly

The Forkrul Assail are the hardest of all to visualise- and this is a pretty good go at it! I think her face and head get her character across well, but as others said below, the body here is maybe too close to human physiology. Nevermind, good stuff here!

I've always imagined that Forkrul limbs were like this. Like each joint changes direction of the limb.

I'd also imagine that they wouldn't look hot with large breasts. They're all about logic and judgement as a species. Evolutionarily I wonder how the fitness criteria of each gender would turn out in respect to that. I doubt it would be in the breasts. Food for thought.

Some great points here. I've seen a couple incarnations of the joints you featured in your first two points and I totally agree. However, I thought that I'd relegate that type of joint change to the Forkrul's legs. I experimented with it on the arms and it looked rather bizzare (desultory). As for her physique, I guess I got carried away, but that's the beauty of the fantasy genre ain't it?

Only on Book 3 here, Howerver I just wanted to tell you that I have been checking out your malazan art work now for a while and I love it!
A bit disappointed that not many people comment on your work because its awesome! For me any body who can visualise and bring to paper and life the malazan universe like you can deserves my respect!
Keep up the great work!

Interesting design. I would make her less sexy and more what-the-hell. What about joints in head and chest?

Thanks for the input. I was actually pretty confused about how the joints in the head and chest work lol. None of the other Assail concept art that I could find featured these joints so I kinda just made her without them. If you could explain it to me better I may be able to incorporate that into this design!

Hard to say, maybe just try to read again passages where they are described or google some tips.
