Vangaro watching the titillating moves of his first love, Sayurei
Commissioned by *xNephthesx Sayurei's look is inspired by Rachel Brice, and may I just commend *xNephthesx for being one of those commissioners who are so *&@#ing lovely when it comes to giving me clear descriptions and references for her characters. I often quietly rage when people expect me to read their minds XDIt would be nice if female belfs could belly dance! The again, the troll women already did it first!
How's your monitor treating it? Not too dark, I hope?
(And by that I mean you can see it properly on your monitor. The scene itself is supposed to have low light.) On my main monitor it looks exactly as I want it to look, but I have a second monitor that's a cheap piece of crap that is my simulation of a "worst case scenario". While my picture is supposed to look like crap on the second monitor, the picture should at least still be visible. So here's hoping that the picture's settings allow it to be viewed decently across several types of displays!

It certainly has an 'intimate' feeling to it. The lighting shows up perfectly fine on my laptop. You can tell the room is dimly lit, but you can still see the details.

STUNNING! And honestly I feel the belly dance would be better for the female (and maybe the male) belfs instead of the hippy-hop ones they have. It adds to the seductiveness that the race imposes when you think about them rather than the preppy idea the dances portray (in my opinion.)

Ohhh my goodness. This is just overwhelming! Everything is so wonderful! And look... shes wearing makeup! Something I didnt expect, but very, very well done! There are so many beautiful details to focus on in this piece the eye just jumps from place to place, in a good way! The peacock feather is perfectly placed. Even the glass on the hooka is lovely. Everything is so delicately done. Im giddy with tears! Thank you so much Yapi, I adore this piece!
And I try to be as thorough as possible ^.^ Sometimes I'm afraid I'm being to controlling with it, so its nice to know that that bit is appreciated!

Thank you, I'm glad you like it (I know I say that every time, but I really do cross my fingers whenever I send a piece out)! And yeah, I noticed that Rachel was wearing that kind of makeup and since she's all dressed up I felt it made sense that she'd doll up her face as well, so I made the judgement call ^_^
And no, you're not being controlling at all! What some people fail to understand is that commissioners are generally selling illustration services, and not design services. It doesn't mean that we CAN'T design characters, but the fees we ask for don't cover that bit of extra work. I don't mind filling in some design holes and adding a bit of flair where I feel it needs it (like yeah, adding make-up without being told and what I did to her ponytail), but expecting us to work from scratch or to a description that is next to nothing can be frustrating sometimes!

I've had a few people request tutorials, but I really don't feel like any kind of authority on this kind of thing! There are so much better tutorials out there!
