Description
[EDIT] Guys, I don't know why this is showing up in your inboxes again! The issue has been resolved for AGES and the person has already apologized (and yes, I forgave her).I keep this deviation here though because I use it as an example when I help other people who are dealing with the same issue and wondering how to approach the admins about it (because many think that they can't report it because that tracing *is* allowed on DA, which is not true!)[/EDIT]
For this journal entry about someone tracing my work.

Yeah, it's weird, and kind of annoying. The person I was talking about already apologized ages ago so DA's really being a jerk. I can't even edit it to say that because it glitches.

It's not a copy. The lines are way too exact; it's obviously a trace. Anyway, this has been resolved months ago, and she has apologizeed to me already. I don't know why this deviation is showing up in inboxes again =_=

You can report tracings if you are the original artist.

A number of people already reported it for me. It was taken down before I even got up from bed, haha!

I can't believe she would do that to you and actually thought she could get away with it. What a moron

The thing is, if she asked if she could use it as a base and would link back to my original work, I would have said yes

yapi In reply to DJPantsu [2011-04-15 15:34:23 +0000 UTC]
Well, I did leave a comment on her deviation just to let her know that I've seen it. Although some people already reported it on my behalf and DA took it down before I even got out of bed, so I guess that's that

Yeah, funny thing is, if she asked if she could use this as a base and agreed to link back to my original deviation, I would have actually said yes = /

No, I didn't. I don't think DA's policies cover derivatives done through tracing.

Most of the time when I report tracings, they ask for the original artist to report it instead.
It wouldn't hurt for you to to try to report it.

Well I wanted to wait until she had a chance to say anything but several people reported it for me so it got taken down in less than 24 hours

if you are the artist and you dont approve that can make a big difference in the reporting, you should report them anyway
