It seems to paralle the path of life. The long road or short path travelled by us. It seems that this short path in life, travelled by the little boy stood at the end of it and surrounded by dead or dying trees hints at a life short lived, but with the soul purpose of searching for that extra something, that special soul, the meaning of life. As he reaches the end of the path, and loosk up, we are given two compleatly different yet valid ideas. He is either still searching for that something, unable to find it even at the end of his journey, destined to 'never know'. Or he has found it, and the point that we cannot see what he is searching for gives us the impresion that we should all walk our own path. The title, the Encounter, lends itself to the proposition that he has, infact found what he was looking for, be it the meaning of life, his existance as a soul, or God himself. We can see he has found and experianced his unique Encounter.
