Don't know why, considering the T-80 still has a serious design flaw, making it incredibly vulnerable to HEAT rounds.

T-64 / T-80 / probably T-14 have carousel loader with vertical propellant charges placement, unlike horizontal  in the T-72.

It's not confirmed whether or not T-80 variants after the T-80BV, the version where this flaw was discovered, have had this problem addressed. Knowing Russia, it's possible that they haven't.

It's a test chassis, without armor (?), reactive armor and additional screens. Because T-15 (object 149, heavy APC) has similar layout and based on parts of T80 (but has diesel engine instead 299's turbine), it maybe one of armata's "ancestor".

Из семейства Т-80 образных. Так называемый "Танк Предельных Параметров" После появления "Арматы" стал неактуален.
Построили этот ходовой макет (или 3 я насчитал, либо его модернизировали) и ИМР "Комплект" gurkhan.blogspot.ru/2015/03/bl…
Этот до сих пор стоит (возможно на нём до сих пор что-то испытывают, раз он ещё не на Кубинке) в ангарах ОАО «Спецмаш», ИМР - расстреляли на полигоне.
