he was a human.

Me? I simply believe he was chosen by Amaterasu, rather than descended. Kind of like looking for future souls, pointing to one and saying "Yep. That's the one. He's going to be the Emperor."

it's Ninigi-no-Mikoto, the man you're suggesting, who descended to Takachiho.

He is related to Amaterasu by blood, as far as I remember.

And Ninigi-no-Mikoto is one of the ancestors of the Emperor, so, they're of the 

same lineage.

Say, do you know of any lesser-known gods? You know, the ones that are not as noticed as the major ones like Amaterasu, Daikoku, Benzaiten or Uke-Mochi.
