Description
This is a picture of the Queen of Hearts as I would picture her. Sitting upon her throne she waits for the next person for her to play with and steal thier heart, and not by the means of love. This Queen has no love, and she lost it long ago when another had stolen her own heart and now she steals other to try and find something to substitute for her own which is missing. Along the way she picked up gunnary (which she has quite a collection of). She steals hearts and locks them away for all eternity and for those who attampt to get them back must make a deal with the Queen much like you would if you were to make a deal with the devil, which means there are consiquences to getting it back. Most people don't survive long enough to get thier hearts returned to them and the queen sees to that.I worked 40-50 hours on this piece, and I like it very very much. I never worked so long or so hard on a piece before and I think from now on I am going to work on pieces much like I did this one. I like the quality of it much more then I do some of the other one's I did. So please tell me what you think of this piece! Full View Please! You get to see more detail! I think I am going to add a little more to it but not much.
If anyone would like a print of this piece let me know or a shirt and I will set it up so that you can get one, as long as there is enough demand for it.

Very interesting work. I like the overall use of mainly three colors. And it has a nice in-between cartoon and painting look to it. The Queen also has a certain allure to her, which is fitting.
There are two main things that don't seem quite right though:
1. The smoke (or fog) in the background seems a little too... clean, almost like it's water. But I do like the fact that it's there, and the black checkerboard looks nice around it; difficult to tell if they are reflecting, or just not present, which is a good, perception-disturbing effect.
2. Some areas seem a little flat color-wise. Primarily her hair and the cape portions. The hair and white fur sections seem like they could have more punch, and the red shading of the cape seems a little off... I do realize that if it were a cape made out of some material along the lines of velvet or such, the way it deals with light and shadow differs from normal materials. I think if the 'shadow' portions of the cape were a just a little bit more dark (and red), it would fit the profile of a velvet cape perfectly.
Sorry for long comment. I know this is an old deviation. But it did say 'advanced critique encouraged', so I tried my best. I'm trying to get into this (or similar) types of art, so I'm trying to start thinking in terms dealing with this medium.
Even with the two areas I mentioned, I still very much like this.

Normally I'd find all of those white lines used as some kind of cob web to be distracting, and would discredit the exuberance of the image; however it seems well suited for the color scheme you've chosen.
The character seems defined quite nicely; a few anatomical discrepancies are visual on her posture but its nothing a little future referencing cant fix in the future.

She is beautiful, thought i feel that more shadows can be put on her, since the light came from the candles behind....

Very nice, I like the way you twisted her body around like that. It makes her look really animated and flexable. The look on her face is nice too, it's innocent but with a hint of deviation. I can almost hear her thinking "Who can I off next?" That's just my interpritation though. I also really like the tangle of string abober he knotting into the black heart, that looks really neat. Great work ^^.

Awesome... But a whip would be a nicer addition instead of a gun (kinda detracts from the barouque feel of the illistration)...
I really like your stuff....am only new to digital illistration myself but like what I see
