Took over at my parents yesterday. There were actually 2, sitting nose to nose, as I was pulling out my camera...in my head I'd even titled it " mr & mrs"!!! Needless to say by the time I'd got everything set up...it had kindly walked away!!!So anyway, shot this on their wrought iron gate

Not much of a shot, I know... but purely for detail..I love it...so I took it
If you've read the description, you'll know the history behind this shot...what I didn't tell...I literally had the shot to die for through my viewfinder!!!..the bird that had walked away, was in my sight, as I scanned for it, walking towards me, legs open, tightrope walking at my lens...couldn't fire the shutter!!! my camera was on remote shutter

Shame you didn't get the shot you originally wanted but this came out beautifully! That spot on it's side looks like a heart that fell over!

It was taken using extension tubes, gives a way closer macro image, but the focus is on a seriously small focal plane...so I just focused on the textures on it's body, hence the light dimples
