Wow, this is beautiful. The colors are so rich and bright. And the amount of detail is nothing short of stunning, especially the way you captured the little water droplets on the petals. Nice job.

How pretty! I love rain/dew drops on flower petals... Flowers in general and beautiful. Although my personal prefernce is yellow roses.

But this flower is a much better choice because it has color depth. Yes yes, this is very nice. It does look like a road. I almost expct it to animate itself in front of me.

The bumble-bee bus...

Oh the perfection of those drops... This is so lovely. The colour is so delicious and warm and inviting. The DOF is percet. Very very nice.

Macro pictures, one of the reasons why I bought me a camera and I ended up with one that isn't really good for this :/
Oh well, I'll have to deal with that 'till my next camera (dunno when thou at that price hehe)

I really like this picture yatu, it gives a nice image of sweetness and warmth. The depth of the flower captured so close gives a stunning effect, maybe due to the blurring in the center of it, really cool.
But for an unknown reason, my eyes keep telling me (errr yeah my eyes talk to me lol) that they would like to see the center of the flower more sharp and see the effect of this picture without blurring. Not telling that this one is not nice, it's all the opposite, it IS very beautiful but that's a weird sensation I have coz I'm curious to see it totally sharp.
Is it even technically possible by the way ?

It's interesting how different visual perception can be. Regardless of the title the first thing that came to my mind when looking at your picture were the Alien Spaceships (from Wing Commander Prophecy Computer Game I think) erupting from hyperspace travel Ok the colours needed a more bluish / green tint for this but anyway. I think I my mind was spoiled by computers and games years ago. Associating a flowers natural beauty with such a trivial thing like computer games could be interpreted as a sacrilege.

The more I like your description and I am trying to empathise with your view Luckily the sweet water paved path makes this much easier than I first expected. So I am leaving behind my gamer's mind and walk on the softly textured and pleasantly lit path. Carefully avoiding to hit the beautiful droplets and admiring the beautiful colour of the petal. (maybe the contrast between the sharp and the blurred parts of the picture would be even enhanced if the whole foreground / petal was sharp, currently the visual path is blurred - sharp - blurred, maybe a sharp - blurred dualism would be even better, but I'd have to see this)

So I come to the end of the path, but it looks like I couldn't totally forget about my gamer's mind. The pistil and the stamen still have a threatening feeling about them. Is it the colour? Is it me? Maybe I am afraid of strong, expressive colours like yellow and orange? Striving for the less blazing ones? Loving the dark red of the path but shying from the vibrant colours it is leading to? Flinching from reaching the goal, though unknown, goal and trading it for the path which is at least known?

Now I better stop this overblown comment before my words are completely unbearable
___
in reminiscence of your school's history and your chosen title I dare to add:

"wide is the path that leads to destruction... but narrow is the path that leads to life, and only a few find it."

come one, who isn't influenced by all these computer games and stuff from his childhood? I am, and i'm happy about that fact -.- your comment was overwhelming, damn,i've never heard anyone writing so much about one of my pieces, such a pleasue chris

thx for your hint, when i took that picture i wasn't able to control the depth of field, since i didn't have a clue, how to control my blend and exposure :> it was rather a happy accident then a well planned result.

i just have to save that quotation! so beautiful, may I add it to the description?

Wundervoll!

saubere arbeit!

Really beautiful shot my friend! I simply love the fact that the focus is on the drops of water and the whole rest of the photo is not in focus giving it a unique look of sweetness and with your amazing description i see that path of water droplets..i wish i was tiny so i can walk that path and be a part of this amazing world! A world that unfortunately people pass by everyday unaware of its existance.. thank you for showing this world to us..

to me *well this is how I feel* when I look this pic I feel the clear purple part is drawing me strongly to the center (yes center of the flower) but when my sight moves to the center I kinda lose it coz I can't find the " focus point" of my sight , and the impact / attraction is kinda lost to me... in other words I get kinda "lost" in there

well that's what i think ^^

yatu In reply to Jalingon3011 [2003-12-15 21:42:45 +0000 UTC]

yes, i'm quite happy that you feel lost in there, cuz somehow that's what i wanted. i mean, i'm trying to emphasize that path to sweetness, having just the path really visible. thanks for sharing these thoughts anyway

It reminds me of a road, paved with sugar and crystal, leading down to a city where faeries run free. The colors really jump out at you, and I love how it looks. Wonderful.

It's amazing to me how you can go back through older pictures and see them with a fresh eye months later. I was doing that just last night. It looks like the waiting has paid off! I especially like the out of focus blurry areas ... but you already know that.

Wow, that is sharp. I've noticed that water droplets on flowers and plants are highly favored in DA. This is very beautiful though. It's interesting how two thirds of the photograph is unfocused and appears as a blend of colors, like watercolors or dyes, and then below every droplet of water is crystal clear and focused. This is a tulip I'm assuming? It feels fresh and looks delicate. It's tempting to touch it, but I know it's just a photograph, but you certainly feel its dimension. Reminds me of a Georgia O'Keefe work if it were a painting

sehr sehr gut, wirklcih absolut top, ganz ehrlich

(was mir noch gefällt, ist die anordnung der tropfen, aber das hast du wohl kaum beeinflussen können )

+ hast du nicht gesagt du müsstest schlafen gehen ? *verdächtig anschau*
