Oh, yeah - can't complain re busy-ness. Some money would have been nice, but I just spend it on trinkets, anyway, so - it's all good.

And DA is definitely the place to be - to be seen, but mostly to see. The amount of talent here is unbefreakinlivable - lots of femsuscle people, but if you step beyond the ghetto's wall your head will explode from sheer amazement.

WTF??!! OK, I'm too old to be starting geek flame wars, but... Come ON! The Hulk could probably take them all on by himself! OK, maybe not WW, but Thor would take care of her. Tony Stark, in the meantime, would be waiting in the wings, trying to decide which of the gals he would be flying off to the hospital afterward (an old pick-up method of his).

Eh, any of them could just toss them into space or punch them in the soul. DC and Marvel power level are hugely different.

But really, you're right - Marvel does the whole "power levels" thing - but that's just making it more laughable. It's all writer dependent. Sigh.

But yeah, I'll still stand by my statement. DC characters are hugely, massively uber compared to even the stupid levels of the Hulk in World War Hulk. Even failing that, Powergirl could use her boobs. That's going to put Iron Man and Hulk out the fight.

I'm a life-long Marvel fan (that's 40 years of reading comics), and I'm guessing this is one of the main reasons why - I could never understand how you could ever win a match against Superman, or even the Flash; they could have you trussed up and orbiting Mars before you could even throw your first punch...
It took Frank Miller and The Dark Knight to make me start taking DC seriously, and there have been many good writers since, but the DCU is most definitely over-powered.

That's the real reason Batman is a quasi-member of the JLA, mostly because half their missions are "Fly into space and destroy it with your eye beams!". But yes, Marvel characters tend to have power levels orders of magnitude lower - presumably to help them be more relatable... which is kinda Marvel's schtick.

I suppose with Superman they kind of did their job explaining it in the JLU finale or in the World's Finest when they all think Supergirl seems strong and basically they just have Supes say that it's because he has better control over his powers and pulls his punches.

'Course, now all the fanboys in Marvel are getting their panties bunched about Rulk running around and basically beating 7 kinds of tar out of all the fan favourites.
