Well, you get this thing from prof. Sycamore that makes grass rustle. The point is to defeat the same pokemon over and over, but you can find legendary birds.

actually you don't need to pokeradar to start finding the legendary birds. once you beat the game and enter a grassy area, a ting will happpen and you Β find the bird (zapdos for fire starter, articuno for grass starter, or moltres for water starter). It'll flee and you have to track it down like 12 times before going to the sea spirit's den to fight it for real) at least that's how it worked for me
but im sure you already knew the whole 12 or so times to get the birds thing by now
