Description There it is, one of the first renders. Very basic really, just roughly light and with HDRI (which I don't really find suitable for the scene).

Being a space scene, you might consider sharper lighting (it's more realistic in that environment and gets some nice shadows that bring out the detail a bit), and maybe some some faint blue light from below reflecting off the planet. Basically figure out where your lighting's coming from and model it accordingly.

I really like how the design overall came out - in the earlier versions I wasn't sure the aft section really worked with the bow, but with the textures in place that concern went out the airlock. Don't really have much else to add on the hull.

Yup, sharper lights considered It already looks better. Thanks.

ok, first off is the only two things I think I can criticize.
First is the obvious lack of some background elements, such as stars, moon, nebula's and what not such as to show you are indeed in space.
Second is to do with the lighting, from the brightness of the atmosphere along the edge of the planet I'd expect to see a "sun" (The Sun, if that's earth.) right behind/rising over the edge of the planet, which would greatly effect the lighting on the ship, and give you an opportunity to put some J.J. style lens glare all over the place for random compositional needs. But basically I see it as calling for the sun as a really strong rim light to the ship.

Those two things are, admittedly, what you alluded to needing work in the description, but there you have it anyways.

As for my comments, it's a neat ship design. I'm a sucker for technical details in this kind of thing. I saw the blueprint of this, but would love to see a higher resolution image so that can be read and I could offer more feedback. Until then the only thing I have to say is that I'm a little confused on the scale, the windows and overall design strongly suggest a moderately large vessel, (destroyer fits nicely) while those "wing" guns just seem too large for that. To clarify, a gun of that size would seem to have a massive kickback, and the wing attaching it just doesn't look sturdy enough to me to hold that unless the whole thing was a lot smaller, say a very large fighter's size. That or the gun made a little smaller, or the strut is visually reinforced. It's not all that big of a deal, and more details/context/cowbell could settle the issue just as easily as anything else.

I know you said you'd be putting it up on TurboSquid, but are you going to put it in any kind of render other then a showcase type deal? (Say yes, I'm hoping for an epic space battle scene. )
Also, are you planning on including any SFX elements such as engine glow/thrusty gas stuff or weapons fire beams and torpedoes/missiles. (that is what some of those mid section door thingy's are right?)

Now I know how hard is to find the decent low orbit HDRi. I'll fix lighting placement when I find background that works better with the scene.
Yes, there will be showcase, quite broad starting from detail shots, through 3/4 shots, BP's up to full scene render. There will be plenty pretty pictures to look at

Fair question. Sorry it took so long to get back to you.

The main things I'd have to say I don't like about the piece have to do with your background... I can tell there's some detail on the planet, but I can't see enough detail to appreciate it. And there are no stars in the sky, making the space scene far less interesting.

Seriously though, I can't really say anything bad about the ship model itself. I love the shape, and it's very detailed. And that circular structure on the rear section is particularly interesting.
