I just finished reading Max Lucado's book "He Chose the Nails". He envisages Jesus turning his head against the solid trunk of his cross and gazing down exhausted and in agony upon you. He smiles soflty through the pain ripping through his hands inpaled to the rough blocks of wood and the pressure of his bodyweight bearing down apon his squewered feet. The discomfort of his body as his painful breaths were trapped in his diaphram was matchless to the bombardment of emotions he experienced for the first time in that moment. Guilt, fear, shame, abandonment, anger, jealousy, bitterness. He took upon his gentle heart the emotions of sin with which he was nailed to the timber. He experienced all of these and more so that you may no longer suffer. "My God, Why have you forsaken me?!" His cry resounds in the heavens, silencing angels and men. The only cry of agnuish, of protest, of discomfort ever uttered from his lips, yet so powerful that it silences and pales every other similar cry until eternity, because it is the last. "I did it for you, I did it all for you"

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whosoever believes in him may not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16

"Alas my love, you say goodbye,
wipe the poison from my brow.
Alas my love, this guilty night
gives me up like a foster child.
And in this moment I take my vow
with these angels sleeping at my feet
And in this moment you do not know how

No candle burining vigil could light the way

He wrestled until morning with human souls and dark angels
