i like the lens flare on the streetlights, much better than my camera (G5) offers (my max shutter is 15sec 
were the lights actually blue or did it just expose that way due to the 45sec (happens with my long exp shots too sometimes)

Some people do, but I don't. I don't like the look of star filters. That was just how they turned out.

The colors seem to come alive with an electric feel. The color saturation is magnificent--which is always a key if you are going to try and do color photography properly.

It's a great shot. I'm curious if you are with other people when you are going into places that you shouldn't be. Are you more likely to go out at night by yourself to find your shots or more likely if you have a buddy with you?
I only ask because I think I'm like you. I like to get my shot even if it requires me going out of my way. I just find that most of my friends like photography as well but they usually won't go to the extent I will.

Man this is a great shot, i love the colors the perspecitve is perfect. You cropped it perfect. I really am amazed at the lighting I would have sworn you used a starlight filter, until i read your description. I want know how those lights came out like that, shit it makes me want to leave work and go shooting, but it is daylight.
