Sounds like a good life, I'd think. Have you ever played imaginary Scrabble? It's less fun than it sounds.

Anyway, I actually like the focus of the shots, it makes it kind of dreamy, perhaps, all though maybe the left could be a tiny bit more focused, so you get all the T. I know that can be hardish to control. What kind of bugs me, though, is the proportion of the two pictures together. Maybe I would like them stacked, better? Who knows.

i haven't played imaginary scrabble (what the heck is that?)

thanks for the constructive criticism...there are definitely lots of ways to present one's photos. it's largely subjective, but then effectiveness and aesthetics are important too. experimentexperiment

Couple of pointers, that I hope can help you with your shots (don't mean to bitch, just offer some suggestions):

The right picture looks too out of focus, and borderline photoshopped blur. This may not be the case, but it could be improved.

The focus of the left shot seems to be off centre. When your working on a piece that combines shot, this is a key thing to consider. Also, this shot be deffinatly improved by increasing the focus of the left.

Its a really great concept, but with some more time, you could get as good a shot as the concept.

Hope this helps, just offering advice

thanks for the advice. i'll tell you what i was doing with these shots -- i was using the reverse lens technique (poor man's macro). these shots tend to be fairly difficult to control totally, but the detail of the focus and depth of field are dramatic. i only adjusted the levels on these shots, the blur is natural. i was just kind of messing around more than anything -- but thanks for the input. : )
