Description ok so here a little explanation: i've been wondering since some time now how i should do my lineart i've tested several methods, softwares and i want to have your opinion hoping that it will help me get better or chose the style i'm better with and maybe make you chose a style yourself seeing the differents ways you can render a drawing, who knows... so here i put the normal pencil drawing sketch as the reference then you have :

- inking made on paper and scanned, not worked yet on photoshop ( except contrast )
- vectorial done on Illustrator
- lineart done with the Photoshop normal brush
- lineart done on Manga Studio using one of the inking tool

In order comparing time/easy factor :

1st = inking on paper
2nd = vectorial if you get used to it not much time spent and pretty easy
3rd = manga studio, the line correction mode and the fact you can rotate your drawing easily to help drawing lines is nice but the pen pression isn't well defined or maybe i didn't find yet how to set it
4th = photoshop, lots of cleaning, uncertain drawing, shaking, erasing,...

i'd like to hear what you thinck and which you prefer please.

Well we already talked about it, I like Photoshop and Manga Studio.. Manga Studio looks even better, softer, neater. Plus if you can win some time when you use it, what more can I say ?

I find this so interesting, I'm gonna add it to my tutorials xD.

I like the pencil drawing the most, followed by the one made with Manga Studio.

Why first the pencil drawing? 'Cause everytime I make or see one I feel truly that it was made by my hand or in the other case by the hand of the other person.

Why Manga Studio 2nd? 'Cause I see the final product more clean and stylish than the others.

The first after the pencil drawing is the one I like the least 'cause the lines are too rough.

i thinck the lines are softer but regular it might be part of the line correction of the software and it's more thin

Good work with this experiment, his face is gorgeous... I like the first version the most, the inking on paper. I think that face has more "soul" than the others. Besides, that version is the one that shows better your stile, it has a subtile elegance wich is kind of lost in the others
