Artist’s statement:
This assembled artwork is a statement about what children coming into this world are experiencing: video games, the world wide web, smart phones, Twitter, FaceBook, YouTube, etc.; a plethora of electronic devices and software applications. While providing a multitude of ways to express themselves creatively, artistically and intellectually, these also have often given our children the appearance of being brain-dead and molded into a “Borg-like” catatonic state preventing good physical health and access to fresh air and sunshine. At times it can seem almost as though they are being incubated for a bleak future in some collective where a mind of one’s own can be difficult to cultivate.

I really really do dig this. Also I have & still use that ipod.I refuse to use itunes or any other horrid apple software. They make alright(if hugely overpriced) hardware but I think they may use blind monkeys to write the software(or is it written FOR blind monkeys?). Sorry I almost went on a mini rant there...
This piece has inspired me to cobble together some old parts & make something interesting(isn't it fun?).If it's any good maybe I'll post it here...or leave it in a park & watch the mayhem unfold.

Thanks, it was loads of fun to do. I actually hinged the frame and added a handle at the bottom so people could take a peek inside too. Let me know if you post one here.
That iPod stopped playing out of one channel. Could be dirt in the connector? Not sure but I have a 160 GB Classic that serves me very well. I currently have more than 18,000 of the 26,000 plus songs in my iTunes loaded on it. Playing random can last months without repeating. I LOVE it!
