When looking at this photo, it just looks like something is floating in mid-air, which doesn't really bring anything interesting about the captured shot. The close-up shot was pretty decent, but would have been a little better if that was the only thing that would have been focused on. I kind of find the background being blurred out a bit upsetting. I think that it would have been a better captured shot if the background came into focus, along with the rest of the photo. Also too, there's not really much grasp to the captured shot to actually make the photo stand out, like it should have.

At first I thought, what the hell is this? This bright colors and spiral shapes caught me eye. Then, I looked closer, and the beauty of this unusual flower really blew me away. WOW is all I can say. I have seen many great photos of flowers and other still life in my time here, but nothing quite like this up until now! The fact that it is not centered, gets your eye to turn to the flower more (sorry for my bad english but you know what I mean) and the focus on the flower + blurring of the background make it stand out again. Amazing job!
