Description A creative take on an alien lifeform that converged with Earth's falcons. This small pigeon-sized flying predator is a well adapted aerial pursuer that lives in a hothouse world named Fiera. The fieran falcon (name given to any member of the Astrohierax genus) have two pairs of membranous wings. The front wing pair is the most dominant, with two articulated rays to support its wing membrane, and a robust talon located on its wrist. A second pair of wings is usually left folded on its back. When the fieran falcon spots a prey, thanks to its mobile and retractable eyes, it plummets down at high speeds, folding its front wings and extending its talons forwards, capturing its prey in one mortal blow. Once the prey is captured, it will feed on the wing, with the second pair of wings keeping the falcon in the air, while the first pair of wings remains folded, holding the food. On the ground, the fieran falcon walks with its front wings. Although its front wings are the dominant pair, this creature alternates between both pairs of wings quite frequently when needed, often capable of using both pairs of wings at the same time when flying.
