I could never do this with watercolor myself (mainly because I continuously make a mess instead of a fine picture, lol).

Haha I agree with the previous comments. The mix of fine lines and watercolour actually work quite well together, for me giving a textural feel. I feel like you haven't diluted the colour much (correct me if I'm wrong) so experiment with watery top layers when finishing the tail, for example. This is absolutely divine, I wish to see ya experiment with everything! (Mainly because you're awesome ^°^ )
I mean I can't draw at your level anyway, so if this is bad then I draw like a two year old. xD
