Lineless has its own difficulties but a few good strengths. While just shading solid colors works fine with simple colors like most ponies, once you try using many different colors in clothing or mane colors it becomes very difficult to manage.

My method is a little messier but it looks nice in the end, you start with a stick figure and then smear it around a bit, adding white and black and grey in appropriate places, and once it looks good you make the white transparent, change the black to some dark color, add the characters colors underneath, put some illumination on a layer above everything for the eyes and hair and metals, then another layer on that for touching up everything so that if the colors didn't come through just right you can fix it without messing around with the other layers.

The problem being you lose a lot of the control over precisely what color the shadows will be, so you need to plan the environment before the shading really, especially the colors.

Well thank you for the teaching my dear,

this all sound like,really..difficult,but I'll try that next time I draw something like this.

linear-free drawings are hard to control the shape and the way you put on shadows, well for me thats the thing bothering

the way you said is shadow first and put the main color back, the truth is,I'm not good at shadowing heh, those "line" on my characters is for me to recognize the part where should be saperated ,and help me to locate the places should add on shadows

Ah, I see what you mean.

I'll try to keep a log of how I do shading and send you a link once it's done. Most of it is treating things like the wing as one solid mass and adding details like feathers afterward. Not the most appealing style I will admit but I'm still working out the kinks.
