Description
I realize I haven't done anything environmental in along time. Also a good opportunity to experiment with more settings in Krita. I also realize am terrible at coming up with names for pieces.Made in Krita.

It's that time of year again when things finally settle down enough I can tackle my DA feed. Thank you! Space is so beautiful.

Thank you ~ Space is beautiful.
I've always wanted to do some kind of spacescape, just glad I finally got around to it.

Beautiful! Did you do this all by hand or did you use filters and things, too? I'm just curious.

Thank you! In retrospect that could have sped up some parts of this painting. I just did it by hand by the fiddling of brush settings and apply high contrast colors and patterns. The original is quite large.

You're welcome! I could definitely see the organic qualities of hand-strokes. That's why I asked. I'd say painting all those details in individually does take quite a bit of time! Do you make process videos or tutorials or anything like that? I currently use filters, and I am interested in learning how to actually paint by hand, digitally. I'm kind of lost there. I bet the original is large! Do you use one layer, or many? I usually use many so I can go back and edit any part later without erasing all the stuff below, or painting over it.

I do not unfortunately. Haven't quite figured out streaming, although if you know any resources or what streaming services are considered good for this purpose, happy to figure that out. Currently still experimenting with my digital ventures. With enough interest though, I may dabble in tutorials in the future as these experiments become something concrete that others might want to know about. A lot of it though is honestly practice and just knowing when to be loose and in some ways making digital feel traditional, stroke wise at least. What kind of mediums are you familiar with? Any favorites?
There's many layers in this piece, I also group them together so everything that belongs to a certain section of the piece, doesn't accidentally get painted on with something else or when I've finished one part and just want to condense it and leave it aside. The only times I'll work in just a single layer is if I'm working fast or thumbnailing.

Hmmm. I don't really know, either. I have a friend who recommended Open Broadcasting Software (OBS) You can find that here: obsproject.com/
I understand. I am familiar with traditional drawing. I've used charcoal some. Colored pencils. I am so familiar with making sculptures out of found objects and matte board. I dabble in a lot of different kind of art, too. Photography, crochet, plastic canvas. But my favorite is Digital art. I love it. It's more forgiving. And it's... easier?...quicker?... more intuitive? to create a complicated image in your head digitally. And I love photography! I've had a camera in my hand since I was 3.
Oh! I also write creatively, too. I love that as well. Poems, short stories, etc.
That's awesome! Groups definitely come in handy when you're working on a piece with many many layers. I tend to forget to give my layers names until I already have a lot. I frustrate myself with that.

Thank you~ I tried not to go overboard. It's all too easy to get lost in space.
I'm glad the details of the planets are appreciated.

A new dimension has been born!
Or corrupted...
I suppose the consequences of such a nebula are little to none?

We may never know. It is well beyond our life time and comprehension of mere mortals. Really though, we definitely won't see it in our lifetime let alone in our existence as a species.

Thanks~! It's what's always appealed to me about space is just the lighting. Who knew utter darkness with just a few burning balls of plasma and gas could be so appealing? Thanks again.
