i dont see why i should be afraid of a mantis! I dont particularly LIKE spiders or centipedes, which means i avoid holding them coz i dont like them! But being afraid.. I truly believe praying mantis are beautiful and btw i get along well with creatures i like Its the same thing with Cicadas. Adorable noisy creatures i can say i understand and like very much, and have spent most of my life running around with them perched on my hands, not leaving
Well, if there was any reason i wouldnt pick up the tiny one, it would be because i was afraid of crushing him.. And this is a hypothetical situation because i normally dont hesitate with anything!

They are beautiful but they just seem like they would be pissed about being picked up. Or maybe I'm just a puss. Either way I'm glad you lie to pick them up. Cicadas are gnarley too. I'm pretty sure we are kindred spirits. Check the dates on our respective Mantis pics. Cuuuhraaazy.

hmm, no i think i can understand what you mean. I mean, personally i avoid big spiders and centipedes Mantis i just havnt found a reason to fear them coz i consider them beaautiful.. So i guess when you find good points about what you fear you almost get over your fear. Then, i cant say whether they will be pissed or not, i get along with insects like those too well to tell you whether they get pissed off if other random people pick them up i really doubt they have many ways to pick who is cool and who isnt XD
