Description
So basically I spent the entire afternoon searching references on soldier uniforms and reading GOC Hub.And managed to doodle a brief impression on what Black Suits are consisted of. (The third layer of vest is pretty redundant though, since the second one, combined with the first, is already capable of protecting against standard rifle fire at a distance of 20 meters. Let's just say I'm practicing for MTF costumes.)
And draw a GOC ball in its Orange Suit——giant bipedal robot, with the Banshee cognitohazard generator switched on.
(Efficiently proved how bad I am at drawing any sorts of realistic machinery).
Facing a happy Sarkicism ball holding its magical girl wand signature staff.
Headcanon: "Nal-ka!" is Sarkicism ball's catchphrase. And laughing sound effect.
I have no idea what I'm doing anymore.
NAL-KAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKA~
......That's kind of how that laughing sound effect works, isn't it.
GOI Ball comics belong to the GREAT and POWERFUL SunnyClockworks and SCP Foundation. I do not own any of them.

Yusssss the awesomness of the GOC and dream cult are overwhelming me.
God damn that robot looks complicated.
As well as that GOC suit.

Flesh Cult. The one against the Metal Gears Solid one.
Now I want to draw a Flesh Cult ball with huge, uncanny anime eyes what's wrong with me NAL-KAKAKAKAKAKAKA.
Probably not what the real Orange Suit looks like, and more of a cartoonish version, but since GOI balls are simple cartoons, it seems okay.
Black Suits is actually the first two layers, and the only useful one in the third is the helmet that can detect EVE radiation images from anomalies. The vest is my personal practice.
But yes, thanks for the compliment, and GOCK is badass.

Well, the lucid dreamers aren't necessarily anomalous, they are just really good at finding ways to help "brace" yourself against dangers while in the nexus. For example, in my dreams if I cast a "shield" spell on myself I literally can't be harmed by any monster or creature that comes after me to hurt me. It's supposed to be inpenetrable by harm of any way, shape or form. Not just physically.
Although, my dreams aren't getting crisscrossed with some mind bending eldritch horror being's dreams either.
When the lucid dreamers are awake, they are just normal people though. You can be really good at controlling your dreams when you're a lucid dreamer, but you don't necessary have to have powers or be anomalous to do it.
The skips on the other hand are anomalous. I think it might be possible for a skip to have the power to pull something into and out of a dream. I don't know though. I'll have to look through the list and find all the dream involved SCPs to see what all is possible with that if at all.
But I do know that it can be possible for a skip to manifest something into reality. One account I like to refer to for that is SCP-1447, I believe. The Tulpa. And whilst it may still be rare, evidently it isn't impossible.
The Nexus isn't a GOI, just like the Library isn't technically a GOI. But both Nexus' (seeing as the Library is also one) are "used" by others and certain groups.
But you're right. The Dream Nexus is really disorganized and as I mentioned unstable and dangerous. It would be hard for it to be a safe haven like the Library is.
But "The Mall" as well as the rest of the nexus can be fun and not quite as dangerous if you can learn how to equipt your "Oneiroi" with the ability to properly brace or defend itself when facing danger. Again, for me, I have plenty of ways I do that in my own dreams.
Although it is a meeting place where all dreams connect up, there's no official guarantee that a mind bending eldritch being will cross into the Nexus EVERY time, but it is possible that it still COULD on occasion.
But yeah, there's a lot I need to work on with the Nexus. Sorry that it's so confusing. I was trying to piece together some of my notes on it in a way to make them fit and make sense. But evidently it's still sloppily done.
But if can unjumble the mess and find a way to make it more workable, that would be cool.
I was kinda shooting for the Nexus and the central part of it, where everything meets--"The Mall"--to be kinda like how the Library is in a sense. And whilst the whole concept of the Oneiroi Collective, OW and Xiupania is really interesting, it seems more restricted then I want this particular Nexus to be.
I wanted it to have a little more freedom then that. And it doesn't exactly have rules. Even the Library seems more free and has more leeway to it. Although, it does have a few rules, but all the same.
That's why I thought maybe this Nexus could be a separate thing compared to the planes in the Collective. Although....being that the Nexus can lead to anywhere, it could probably very well open up into those worlds itself. So I don't know.
Out of all the official GOI, it is most likely that the Collective will stumble upon the Nexus first, before any of the others.
I wonder though if an eldritch creature could still achieve that mind bending and destroying thing, when faced with several thousand dreams at once. Wouldn't all those conflicting unstable energies throw it off and inhibit it?
Then again, if that would be the case, then why would the lucid dreamers have any better control?.....ugh. Now, I'm confusing myself.
I knew there was a lot to consider and take into account, but I guess there's more to work out than I thought. I still want to try though.
Edit: Sorry, clicked the wrong button. I meant to hit reply, but I hit comment instead.

Interesting. I'm still looking through things on the foundation wiki, mostly the different hubs, GOIs and canons lately. I plan to read some of the tales in all of them pretty soon.
I think the robot turned out pretty good. Again, better than I can do. So many things people are better than me at drawing. Arrgh.
Oh, well. Still pretty interesting. I wasn't aware that the GOC had things quite like that. More for me to look at and check out I guess.
Did you get a chance to check out my idea for a "Dream Nexus" yet? Just wondering. No rush if you haven't. But I was hoping you might check the idea out and maybe give some suggestions and perhaps a little critique on what all to add or work on with it. I'd really like to turn it into something interesting and workable.
I also posted a small piece called "DreamWeavers" which is supposed to be affiliated with the "Dream Nexus".
But yeah, when you have the time, do you think you could check them out? Again, no rush.
Great job on the drawing.

Actually, it feels a little cartoonish and probably not what the real Orange Suits might look like; but since GOI ball itself is drawn in a very simplistic way, I think it is pretty okay. An accurate, realistic bipedal robot suit with canonical characteristics will take me at least a week to draw in studio with color pencils, sharpeners and references nearby, and I don't have enough time to do so as for now.
I do check out your idea, and I'm currently searching for more references in order to give a critique as good as possible. It does get a little confusing when it comes to the two original skip ideas, and how one can cross between other planes of existence and their local realities while not possessing anomalous effects, as you stated. This is my personal opinion, but the Nexus can remain be an unique plane and Collective within the Oneiroi world without being a separate GOI in itself; much similar to OW and Xiupania, which are different enough from OC, but not to the point of getting a whole new Hub page.
Its nature of harvesting brain power of dreaming entities and warping (similar to the abstracts from OC in "Xiupania" tale) seems similar to OC, but containing dreams of sapient beings and visiting lucid dreamers that are signature traits of OW. So I believe it could be the Oneiroi version of Library, a place where OW and OC territory overlapped but not enough to fully exert each's influences. Thus one won't get automatically pulled into the abstract, twisted OC and loss their subconscious self, or into OW and unwillingly become a part of it.
A bit of info though: many anomalies' mind, especially eldritch entities', are not habitable or downright fatal to most Oneirois. "To the Dreams he is Nobody" showed that dream-building Oneirois cannot function when the subconscious of mind-bending eldritch horrors leaked into their creation, "Old Kansas Sector 10" mentioned that when the reality started breaking down and a large number of world populations became anomalies, the Oneirois of them also perished due to the complete demolishment of their hosts' mind. I stalk SunnyClockworks' sandbox and one work did featured a Fifthist, whose mind are directly influenced by Pure F***ing Insanity from some ancient entities in the universe, "burnt up" the Oneirois in xir head by thinking about concepts of Fifthism, like stars.
Xiupania kind of provided the ways to "kill" an Oneiroi apart from brain-fry by pure insanity and eldritch minds; when Oneirois with a host is "killed", they were not completely destroyed, but overwritten into another copy of Xiupania states, spreading it like a virus. It gets rid of one's subconscious avatars, but does not seem to influence the person. Qi Shao, who terminated almost all OW and rogue Oneirois entering her realm, said that she was committing no crimes on corporeal forms——avatars of dreaming humans, because people wake up and continue their life even without them, and they don't want their own subconscious anyway. But for Pure Oneirois, she is indeed killing them in some ways.
So for visiting corporeal forms and Pure Oneirois, the most possible dangers that were presented in the Nexus will be stumbling into eldritch entities' dream——which are pretty obvious in nature, given by the simile of a bleeding wound and void in "To the Dreams he is Nobody". Xiupania is likely not involved due to its virus-like property, which will pretty much turn the whole place inhabitable, if not another massive Xiupania state copy the moment it entered.
Now, for Transitory beings——a random visitor, whether lucid human dreamers or not, there aren't really much things to talk about. The tales are really confusing regarding them, but we do know that Jason Graham, the host which Xiupania is based on, know about Xiupania and Qi Shao's existence; her being in a relationship with him before she became a Pure Oneiroi. He is a mentally-ill man who frequently tried to conquer the capitol Xiupanian state in lucid dreams, disturbing its balance in some ways, suggesting that he is different from corporeal beings since despite being unsuccessful, he is not harmed in such attempts——maybe due to his host status. Extreme fighting and violence in Xiupania states during dreams had actually caused the death of the host before.
It is possible that if one's dream avatar is created by their conscious mind, like the Oneiroi MTFs, the destruction of that avatar will indeed affect their conscious mind. Deathbell, when his dream-world self was tortured and eventually devoured by Qi Shao, had fallen into a state of coma in real life and subconscious turned into a replica of Xiupania state. But for other corporeal forms whose hosts have no knowledge of their existence, their death made almost no difference on their hosts.
I am currently reading the DreamWeavers story, and will be writing a critique to it soon; but these information regarding the nature of corporeal——dream-avatars, Pure Oneirois without bodies, and the pretty much unexplained Transitory visitors, might be helpful. I really feel like I have not given my own opinions, but just do an infodump everytime due to me being afraid that my personal tastes will infer with a good idea......so I will try harder on the Dreamweaver story.
