Description
...that is the question.I'm sure this thought has appeared in the head of every Sherlockian at least once. As for me, I imagine it every time I see his skull in the flat. But the serious idea to make a painting came to me when I was rewatching A Study In Scarlet for about the fifth time. Well, I think Sherlock would have looked great as Hamlet ^^
ArtRage, about a month. Freaking month. That means there's REALLY a lot of effort put in this drawing. Especially in Sherlock's hand 'cause I didn't take it from the reference and it was very hard to put lights and shadows on it. All the same I'm satisfied with the results of this month's constant work. Maybe I should go on painting instead of graphics.

Yes. Basically. The skull is Yorick, and when no one's around, Sherlock recites Shakespeare to it that he memorised back in his university days.
(For what it's worth, I've got a skull on my bookshelf, and his name actually IS Yorick. Good times.)

Yorick as well? Seems that Yorick is such a widespread skull name like... for instance, in Russia we have such a widespread name like Kesha for parrots. I don't know the same analog in other countries
And I have a skull as well, and due to its little size it's called Yorick the Junior.

I think it's just because the skull in Hamlet is called Yorick. At least, that's why I named mine Yorick - I adore Hamlet.
...Why Kesha for parrots, though? I am rather curious now.
YORICK JUNIOR. THAT IS PRECIOUS. (: Aww.

Yorick THE Junior personally at mine, just because my friend said so once though it's correct to say just 'junior' you know, such things stick so much to our minds.
Why Kesha? Kesha is shorter for Innocentius (in Russian it's pronounced like 'innokenty'), and I don't have a slightest idea why particularly this name is so widely spread and which pet names are spread like that in your country?

I have absolutely no idea, to be honest. A bunch of generic stuff? People like using food names, I think. Lots of dogs and things named, like, Oreo, or Cookie, or Brownie, Snickerdoodle, or silly stuff like that. Aside from that, a bunch of generic stuff - Fluffy, Killer, etc. Although to be fair, I'm not the best person to ask. I don't know anyone with a pet, nor do I have one myself. Haha.

Sherlocklet!
I don't know why that's the only word that occurred to me right now. I'm sure Hamlock or something would be more appropriate, but no. Sherlocklet it is.

If he was holding the pill from the series - yes. But he holds a skull, that means his palm is turned to his face, and the thumb is supposes to be on that size. You can check it on yourself, if you try the same pose. You'll see.

"I'm sure this thought has appeared in the head of every Sherlockian at least once."
You said truth I even made my own version of it, in case you want to see.
Well.
Don't worry. The effort you put in your painting is easily seen and the result is wonderful. I'm speechless, sorry. The folds, the shades and the arm position is perfect !
