I have just seen The Force Awakens. Ten minutes into the film, I noticed there were tears in my eyes. I am pretty sure I wasn't the only one in the audience.

JJ Abrams has succeeded in doing what George Lucas couldn't do. He brought back Star Wars. It isn't just that the guy has made a very, very good movie (which it is, no doubt). It is that he did something I actually didn't consider possible anymore: he made me feel exactly like I did when I was a young kid and saw the originals. Thank you, JJ. Thank you.

This is some fan art dedicated to Daisy Ridley, who steals the show. Her brilliant performance of the scavenger Rey was, in my view, the best part of the movie: Rey is the coolest, best designed, strongest female hero to hit the white screen in a long time. All the characters in the movie are way out there, but Rey is the best. I am pretty sure that the designers based her character at least partly on an old piece of concept art that Ralph McQuarrie did for the original movie (bi9he1w7hz8qbnm2zl0hd171.wpeng… ) so I figured I would merge the two. I hope you enhoy it.

After all these years.... Star Wars is back. Go see that movie!
