Description
Just wanted to do some artwork... plus it was either color something fun, or clean my room... Guess what?! XDForgive me if this is terrible, it was done with a mouse. I'll try doing the other Yogscast members within the coming week. I also had the strange notion to title this "Count Xephos"... I think it might have been my music that was influencing this. Curse you Masquerade Waltz! Though... that title does have a nice ring to it (tell me what you think on that if you want).

XD He does seem to look the part. Wasn't my first intention to make him look evil, but oh well, good practice for the comic I guess.

Thank you! I tried really hard to make this look good, about two hours. As for skill, it just takes some time practicing and perfecting a good method when using a mouse.

You did this with a mouse?! It's amazing! Β I can only get good results with a tablet....

Thank you! It's very hard to use a mouse, I've gotten kind of lazy ever since I got my tablet, but since that's broken at the moment I had to get back to using the mouse.

How do you even draw with a mouse? Β I've tried several times (although not here recently; 'twas many years ago) and have had no success.

Well want a tip and my process of using a mouse?
1.Very VERY sloppy sketch, don't try making it perfect at first, just try to get a pose down and get the anatomy to look right. I normally have the brush set to a large pixel size for faster drawing
2. make a cleaner sketch and add in finer details, still a tad bit sloppy probably, but it gives you something good to use as a base. Pixel size of brush could be reduced.
3. Finally for lineart. Take your time with it and be patient! Your hand will probably be shakier with the mouse than the tablet, so go slow. Redo things if they don't look right either!
Don't be afraid to go back to sketch layers to change things. Yes time could be wasted, but it's better to do that then not and be kicking yourself later for it.
Hope this helps if you ever needed to use a mouse again. I also use this little process for when I use my tablet.

I do this when I draw with my tablet, but I never really considered using my mouse the same way! I'm kinda hesitant because of how much work it would take, but it could be fun (or get hilarious results)!

Yeah, it is fun. If you have a bamboo tablet or one of the others where you don't look down at what you're drawing, then using a mouse is very similar.

I only just recently got my Intuos, and applying the thought of not looking down and a mouse being similar, I might be able to draw using a mouse better now. Β

^^ Well I'm glad that I could help in some way. I also have an Intuos and I will say that it's probably one of the better tablets to get for first time users.

I'm glad you could help too! Thanks so much! As for the Intuos, that's why I chose it; someone had said it was good for noobs and I figured that I would give it a go, that and my friends that draw had purchased tablets from the same company.
