"Dad," Kodai called over, looking at himself in the mirror. "You think it's possible for someone to be too round?"

"Possibly," Goliath answered, kneeling down to be eye level with his son. "If they're constantly stumbling over their own stomachs, what good are they in a fight?"

"Always thinking like a soldier," Kodai snarked as he rolled his eyes. "Well, I was talking with one of the students at the academy and they mentioned that it looked like I put on some weight."

"Well, they're not wrong," Goliath commented, also noticing how Kodai was looking a tad thicker in recent months. "You've been stockpiling pounds like crazy lately."

"You think so?" Kodai asked in genuine curiosity. He poked his belly and noticed how soft and doughy it felt despite looking so round and firm. "To be honest, I've lived with this body for so long that it feels... natural."

"I take it that means you're not going on a diet anytime soon?" Goliath jokingly asked.

"I'm a glutton, old man. Not a gainer." Kodai answered flatly, earning a scowl from the young, chubby Zephyrite. "I might like being a little chubby, but I don't intend on blowing up into a space whale."

"And yet you don't intend on changing that diet of yours and you refuse to partake in any extracurriculars that involve physical activity..." Goliath sighed as he moved up from his kneeling position.

"You going out?" Kodai asked.

"Yeah, got business to attend to. I'm going to be late, so do whatever you want for dinner." As soon as he heard that, a loud growl sounded off from Kodai's belly followed by a big, dumb smile from the young Zephyrite. Goliath shook his head and smiled to himself as he walked out the door.

"At any rate, I think it's about time to get some bigger clothes for my Extra Soft Soldier..."
