Description
Lieutenant Björn Martinez hates his status as a genetically engineered super soldier, so much so that he has dedicated his new life to becoming so unhealthy that he can't fight just to spite the military that transformed him. He yearned to be chewed out by his medical advisors as well as his superiors, but he never got any of that. Instead, what he got was fascination at how one of his size could survive for so long after letting their gluttony get the better of them. In fact, it was like his superiors welcomed it for no other reason than to use him as a lab rat for how far the nanomachines used on him could go. Every chance they got they offered him food, especially on special occasions like birthdays or holidays. He can vaguely remember times where he had to undo his belt and incredibly tight uniform jacket publicly just so he can breathe, signalling that he had enough, only for everyone else to cry out…“No, no, please! Help yourself!” “There's plenty of food left if you want more!” “A soldier like you needs all the energy he can get!” “Surely you're not finished yet, lieutenant?”
It was even worse when Ensign Royce Arthuria was involved since he loved cuddling his “little brown teddy bear” as he called him. He hated how Royce encouraged his gainer lifestyle. Firstly, because he felt like he was taking advantage of his love and kindness. He felt incredibly selfish to be in a relationship with Royce just because he was pushing himself opposite of his husband. But even more upsetting was what it was doing to his well-being. He knew that if he ever had his insignia removed from his arm, he wouldn't survive for long. He couldn't help but feel crippled by it. Even so, no one treated it as a problem. Which led to the one phrase everyone said that irritated him the most…
“We want you to feel at home here!”
He always scoffed at that phrase. Home? Bullshit. This wasn't a home. This was a prison. A prison that he had no choice but to make a home. It was a guilded cage and he was a bird that yearned to be free. The question then is “Can someone like me obtain the freedom I want?”
