i agree with what some person said already; this style is a lot more personal, and with that more interesting, than the very realistic approach. vectors are perfect for stylizing and giving things an individual look. it's kind of sad, but if you show a very realistic vector to someone who doesn't know how you work, they'll probably just think it looks like a bad photo.
