Tess was getting nervous at the sight of the last Drake, tilting its head at them, not entirely persuaded. She gulped, but the feeling of fear was quickly pushed aside as she saw Donovan quickly get up on his four and use the last of his strength to fling the opponent away. It was a success as the Drake ‘yalp’ and was easily thrown away and into some sharp brambled bush. It squirmed and then vanished from their sight. Gone. They were finally gone--well all except the sleeping one.
“Yea, off you go dirty things!” huffed Jewel as she dashed forward and towards the bush where the Drake had disappeared. She hovered around it briefly before sticking her beak up and flying back to see Tess, pride glowing on her face.
“You clever thing! I didn’t think it would’ve worked, but it turned out great,” chanted the Hummingbird, spilling happily around Tess and Peter, even stopping to swat the bird on the wing. Sort of a ‘high-five’ even though such an action wasn’t really acknowledged by their kind.
Tess sighed, relieved to see that the battle was now over. It was finished, good grief. She felt suddenly tired, fatigued by all of the adrenaline and fear that was running through her. And now that it was over, she was experiencing the aftermath of such strong emotions. She breathed heavily.. until she remembered Donovan. She pushed herself to a stand and quickly padded towards the ragged combatant, her ears low as she observed his battle injuries. There were so many of them! He was practically soaked in his own blood--well, not exactly, but it looked quite severe. Deep wounds here, deep wounds there. She couldn’t understand how a Felmark could still be able to stand after being injured this much and this severely.
“Donovan, are you alright? You don’t look so good. We-..we should find some place to rest. I need to patch you up, but I want to do it somewhere where we won’t get ambushed again,” she meowed, her voice filled with concern and sympathy. She really admired his tenacity.. not every Felmark would have the strength and endurance to fight this long. He was really something else..
“Can you stand on your own? I can help,” she quickly added, pushing her shoulder against him to help support his balance.

The Woodpecker felt his heart ease a little bit as both of the Drake’s ran off, he felt especially good when Donovan got a last shot at one of them. ’Good going, buddy.’ Peter glanced at the bushes where Jewel hovered over in triumph, happy that their plan had worked out amazingly. The black and red bird was especially surprised when Jewel swat Peter on the wing, the male felt his face blush a little bit before his yellow eyes caught Donovan’s pelt. At the same moment, his heart dropped to the floor before he quickly flew at his Felmark. ”Donovan!” He cried out, eyeing the long gashes across his body and his blood dripping onto the floor.
The Felmark’s head hung low, no longer able to properly lift both his head and his antlers up, his head hurt too much for that. Trying to catch his breath, he breathed heavily in and out, it already took most of his breath just to even stand up after what he went through. The adrenaline slowly left the combatant’s body, making him feel more weak than ever. Eyeing his familiar, the tom couldn’t respond at all just yet, since he was already spitting out the blood in his maw.

”Donovan, are you alright? You don’t look so good. We-..we should find some place to rest. I need to patch you up, but I want to do it somewhere where we won’t get ambushed again.”

The tabby tom’s yellow-green eyes scanned the Timekeeper’s body, not a trace of open wounds were visible to his eye. ”Hah, not a wound at all…” He murmured. ”Are you alright though?” He asked. After what had happened, she must be a bit unsettled seeing him like this. His question was counteracted by her questioning his ability to stand up properly. One of his eyes was half closed as he kept his smile. ”I’m alright, I can stand up, it’s just the adrenaline leaving my body. I don’t need help, it’s not too bad.” He lied, letting his frown leave and smiled warmly at Tess. The tom nearly flinched as soon as Tess touched his shoulder, gritting his teeth again, he mewed, ”I’m actually quite happy that you’re worried about me, it relieves me, in a way. But…I’m quite alright.” Although he felt as though he was about to drop dead, he didn’t want to worry Tess too much, after all, he wouldn’t let any Drake lay a single hair and the green eyed Felmark. Lifting his head up a bit, he glanced back at Peter and Jewel. ”I’m fine, I really am…” The tom felt his scratches turn numb, which was a bit better than the stinging sensation that he had before.

“Hah, not a wound at all…”
Tess’ ears twitched as he spoke and she turned slightly to look at him. What did he mean? Obviously, he wasn’t talking about himself. He was clawed beyond everything.. Was he then talking about her? She quickly looked over her own shoulder and examined her limbs and chest. He was right. Nothing that looked like a wound. Just her fur ruffled around after the roll downhill. She sighed, casting a stern look at him. Her tail lashing briefly behind her.
“Are you seriously more concerned about me than yourself? You’re a mess. F-fur everywhere,” she mewed as she paused to jerk her head at the ground around them. It was full of patch of torn fur and blood. A real carnage. She winced at the mere sight.
“You mustn’t worry about me, come on.. we have to find a quiet place to settle down,” she murmured a little more tenderly, her eyes clouded with concern. He was in really bad shape.. and maybe even worse than what she saw. When she saw him so hurt, she refused to inspect his body further.. scared to see the gravity of his wounds.. cause after all, she was to blame. Who chases after a Drake anyway? An idiot.. yea, she was such an idiot.
“......... Of course I’m fine, thanks to you,” she eventually admitted. Why was he still so concerned about her? She looked down as she pressed a little closer, supporting his weight and tail wrapped tightly around his hind leg, locking herself to him incase he wanted to push away. She was going to help him, despite his own words. And the more he spoke, the more she found herself embarrassed. At a point, she felt boiling hot under her fur and her face was probably red at sight. She couldn’t believe that he still had the strength to--well.. be a charmer. Geez..
“W-why wouldn’t I?” she huffed.. “You saved my life. It would be really rude of me not to acknowledge that at least,” she added, shifting her eyes to look at him, though she quickly looked away. It was just too embarrassing to look him in the eye--which without noticing, she’s been averting since the beginning.
Jewel flew a little close, inspecting Donovan’s wounds closely.
“Eww, I never saw this much blood before. We gotta fix him up before he falls to pieces--”
“Jewel! Stop, don’t talk like that. It’s very serious. You and--uh..” What was his name again? “You two should be looking for a place for us to rest. Go go, hurry!” urged Tess as she lightly flicked Jewel away with a paw.
The bird blinked in surprise, nodding sharply as she flew right behind Peter and pushed him forth with her head, her wings flapping at the speed of light, hypothetically speaking.

It's a rp between me and eliza1star . Tess was asked to watch after the artifacts and make sure that none gets stolen. She was doing just that.. when she saw a Drake steal the artifact of a fellow Felmark, an apprentice. She couldn't just stand there and watch and instead, she ran after the Drake, hoping to catch the thief and get the artifact back. Unfortunately though, she was ambushed by three others and when she was about to lose the fight, Donovan came to the rescue. He was firstly hunting for his own court but stopped for a small break. That's when he heard the ambush taking place. And well, this picture shows what happened after the battle was finished.

It was a fun rp, I really enjoyed it. Donovan is really something, hehe. So far, Tess seems more confused about Donovan's actions and behavior around her. She doesn't get why he's so invested in her well being. Maybe she'll understand one day. It was also great to draw that scene from the rp. I need to catch up in my rps, omg.
Anyway, ENJOY!

I dunno why I put so much time and details into this pic.. I must thank Nicole for extending the deadline. For a moment, I was worried I wouldn't get this finished in time. Hah..
