This is my entry for the Ravenpaw contest From the club xWarrior-CatsxI was thinking of making Ravenpaw hiding from the threat that Tigerclaw makes him endure but I felt like it was just too common. So I decided to make a scene from the first book where Ravenpaw catches an adder.
I don't know why but I really likes that scene where Greypaw's amazed by Ravenpaw's catch and by his agility. "I was too quick for them!" thats what Ravenpaw said
I took the background from a scene from Bambi movie. I'm so lazy that I didn't even made shadings on the 2 cats and didn't felt like making my own background. Well I just stink at making background especially forest one. Sorry T-T
But when I was checking out Bambi's scenes I realized that in most of them Bambi didn't had shading on, so I thought it would look more animated this way.
Anyway I hope you enjoy
I just love Greypaw on this one and Ravenpaw as well.

Aw, how cute. c: I would critique if I had a member ship.. but I just say a few things on here.
First, i'm not sure if you were going for a chibi look here or not, but they look really young. They look more kit sized. Cats of four months are usually a bit larger.
And second, the snakes tongue looks a bit odd, maybe just adding small jaw corners around the first part of the tongue? I dont know.. It just looks odd to me. I'm assuming that the scratched on the snake are from Ravenpaw. But they look like scars. Maybe making the color more red?
I really hope i'm not sounding like a jerk.. :c I think this piece is awesome (way better then I can draw. xD) but it looks perfect not matter what. ^^

1- Yes you're right they do look like kits xD
But I never knew how big a 4 moon cat was suposed to look like since all the cats I had in my life were already like a year old. My current one was 9 month old and he wasn't that big. He looked like a kitten but was just a lil larger. So I tried to figure out how he would have looked like 4 month old... hehee guess I screw up there. Alright imma do them larger next time
2- For the snake tongue, I keep looking at it but I don't know what would be wrong with it.. Maybe because the tongue seems to be floating from the floor? Sort of? I added the background afteryards so I couldn'T guess how low or high the snakes head should have been. But I think that is it? I'll be carefull next time :3
3- Yea the injuries are suposed to be from Ravenpaw. I was thinking of making blood but... x3 the picture was soo cute and I could hardly think of adding blood (something sinister) in this picture. So I mad ethem pinkish so it looks more for all ages including kids. But I guess I understand your point :3 thx

I totally know what you mean, though. I have a cat and hes tiny for being two years old. Some cats are extremely weird on how they grow. So trust me, you're not the only one who does it!
Snakes are weird because their tongues do come out like that but it always looks weird when I try to draw it. xD
I completely agree about the blood. The picture doesn't need to be that realistic. x3 I was just saying perhaps a darked shade.

O wow nice job! I love Greystripes design in this one, the plain ol "stripe down he's back" crap is starting to get old and annoying to me

Thank you for the sweet compliments. And yea I did notice that most ppl would draw Greystripe with a long grey stripe going down all the his tail. I never read in the book that he had that stripe. But I guess thats how most ppl imagine him to be.
In my case, I imagine him filled with stripes all over hos fluffy figure x3

If you read the index and further into the books, it states that Greystripe "Is a Solid gray tom with bright yellow eyes"
I think the "stripe" Is misleading towards younger children who believe is popular to do what others do and stick a stripe down he's back
But of course that's just my thinking XD
